1. What is EXOS?
EXOSis a global leader in human performance. Our foundation hinges on our fourpillars
of peak performance: Mindset, Nutrition, Movement, and Recovery.
Within are facilities are separate departments, each of whichhas the responsibility to
provide one of the pillars of peak performance.
2. How did EXOSget its name?
EXOSis the root of the wordexosphere (the outer layer of the Earth’s atmosphere).
Earth’s exosphere is uncharted territory and is incapable of supporting human life. Here
at EXOS,we push the boundaries of human performance to discover new realms and
new techniques in an effortto improve the health and performance of our athletes.
Youmay also notice the x’s and o’s within the word EXOS.These letters are typically
used in playbooks as universal symbols of offense and defense. One of our goals at EXOS
is to provide youwith offensiveand defensive game plans to improve you way of life.
3. What is the mission statement and goals of EXOS?
To provide the finest performance systems, specialists, and facilities seamlessly
integrated to efficiently and ethically enhance our athletes’ performance.
Our goals are to motivate through education, improve performance, decrease injury
potential, and produce results.
4. How long has EXOSbeen around?
EXOSwas founded in 1999 under the name of Athletes Performance.We recently
rebranded under the name EXOSin 2014 so we no longer are perceived exclusionary to
“non-athletes” because of the name.
5. Who founded EXOS?
Mark Verstegen, who is still the President and Founder to this day.
6. Does EXOShave different locations?
EXOSprovides global services and has 9 facilities spread across the US. Rapid expansion
is continuing to take place on a national and global scale as new facilities are being built
and companies are looking to partner with EXOSin order to infuse our
methodologies/practices into their systems.
U.S. locations include: Phoenix, AZ - Los Angeles, CA - San Diego, CA - Pensacola, FL -
Minneapolis, MN - Rochester, MN - Raleigh/Cary, NC - Dallas, TX - Atlanta, GA.
7. What type of athletes does EXOStrain?
EXOSis NOTlimited to solely training athletes.
Our programs are sectioned off by the following:Youth (5th-8th grade), College
Preparation (high school),Collegiate, Adult, and Pro/Elite athletes.
8. What sports are affiliated with EXOStraining methods/programs?
We cater to all sports and develop training programs designed to accommodate the
needs of yoursport and you as an individual. However,most of the athletes wetrain are
affiliated with soccer,football,and baseball.
2. 9. Does EXOSworkwith businesses/programs outside of athletics?
EXOSWorks is one of the vertical silos within the EXOSsystem that aims at training
businesses/corporations in order to streamline workplaceefficiency.Oureffortshere
are to reduce workplaceabsenteeism, correct/improveposture, increase overall vigor,
and restructure a new perception of reliability and teamworkbetween coworkers.
10. What makes EXOSa reliable/credible source of training?
Since the inception of EXOSin 1999, we’vetrained a total of 595 players selected in the
annual NFL draft. In the 2015 Draft, 72 players selected prepared and aligned with
EXOS.Out of these 72 athletes, 13 of them were first-round selections.
Our brand name performance nutrition products powered by Throne Research received
NSF certification;ensuring these products are free of more than 200 banned/prohibited
substances. These products include Aminos, Whey Protein Isolate, Mulit-Vitamin Elite,
and Catalyte Isolate.
Porschehas decided to partner withEXOS,and constructed a new facility in Atlanta
called Porsche Human Performancepowered by EXOS.Here, Porsche’s professional
drivers, along with normal individuals, receive all the training and opportunities
available at all other EXOSlocations. However, this facility is also designed to allow you
to undergo a series of sports science evaluations similar to whatprofessional drivers
experience.
EXOS’sperformance system holds international influence. We have been trusted to train
professional athletes and teams representing a number of countries such as China,
Germany, Brazil, and Argentina.
11. Who are EXOS’sponsors?
EXOSis partnered and sponsored by a handful of businesses, researchers, and athletic
teams/committees.
Since the company’s inception, Adidas has been the officialfootwearand apparel
supplier.
Companies such as SKLZ, Keiser, PowerPlate, Woodway,OctaneFitness, and
VersaClimber provide equipment forEXOSathletes to experience an innovativetraining
session involving state-of-the-art machines and technology.
Companies such as Thorn Research, Mayo Clinic, and Andrews Institute provide EXOS
with the latest research and product findings relating to nutritional supplements,
breakthroughs in medicine, and knowledge of human physiology.
Teams that EXOShas workedwith include, but are not limited to: The NFL, Alabama
Crimson Tide, Los Angeles Galaxy, Portland Timbers, Sporting Kansas City, Chinese
Olympic Committee, German Men’s National SoccerTeam (DFB),Argentina Rugby
Union, and many local colleges and clubs surrounding respective locations.
12. How much does it cost to train with EXOS?
The cost of training at EXOSvaries depending on the program, membership, duration,
and regularity of training.
Meal plans, PhysicalTherapy, and physical/psychologicaltesting are also available at an
additional cost.
3. 13. What age groups can be trained at EXOS?
Anyone above 11 years of age can train at EXOS
14. Can I choose whattime I train at or are the classes limited and fixed to specific times?
Our classes have specific starting and ending times throughout the week. Youwill not be
able to comein at whatever time youdesire, but youare allowedthe flexibility to join a
different workoutgroup on days your normal time isn’t available to you.
15. How long does a work-outlast?
Our workoutsconsist of 60-90 minutes of activity;this includes a proper functional
warm-up and then speed-strength training followedup with recovery protocol.
16. Will I be assessed to determine the difficulty levelof training I’m capable of?
Yes, before we train any of our athletes they get screened to determine their current
state of health. The evaluation consists of communicating past/present injuries, body
composition, nutritional evaluation, and more. You willthen be placed in a workout
group similar to yourcapacity.
17. What else does EXOSofferbesides training programs?
Besides elite speed-strength training from our valued performance specialists, EXOS
offersnutritional assessment and comprehensive diet plans from our very own
registered dieticians and nutritionists; psychological counseling is available to help
develop a confident and motivational mindset from contractedpsychiatrists we trust;
recovery methods such as hydrotherapy,soft-tissue massage, and even physical therapy
is available to treat and prevent past/current injuries.
18. Can we comein and train as a team?
YES! Wehighly recommend your team train as a group with EXOS. Not only will you
receive a discounted rate, but youwill see improved performance on the field along
with a stronger sense of uniformity within yourteam. Team training is imperative in
order to build a solid foundation of team chemistry. Players willdevelop trustworthy
relationships by holding one another accountable when facedwith adversity.
19. Does EXOSprovide 1-on-1 training?
EXOSdoes not provide 1-on-1 training.
20. Can EXOStrainers travel to my school/workplace/parkand train outside of the facility?
EXOSspecialists can travel outside of our facility wallswith respect to certain
limitations such as distance, time, availability, and/or contractsize
21. What type of equipment is used to train EXOSathletes?
EXOSfacilities are equipped withmachines and devices of all shapes, sizes, and uses.
Many different brands partner and support EXOSwith all the necessary tools that make
up our innovativeperformance system.
Youwill find equipment from Keiser, SKLZ, PowerPlate, Woodway,OctaneFitness,
Fusion Sport, Spark Motion, and Versa, Climber. All whosupply EXOSwith different
equipment to make yourtraining more efficient,effective,and productive.
4. 22. How long will it take me to see results when training with EXOS?
Obviously,the longer you align with EXOSthe more results and increases in
performance you should expect see. We strongly promote our 12 weekprogram as a
good starting point. This amount of time will allow for significant changes and
adaptations to occurwithin your body and mind. This is also close to the amount of time
most athletes have available to train themselves in their off-season.While we do, and
will, workwith athletes in-season, some don’t have the energy or commitment to push
their bodies and train as hard when they must perform frequently.
23. Will I be working out with people similar to my physique and body composition?
Our programs offered are categorized based on age. You will be working out with others
relatable by age, but some of our groups are made up of diverse body types and levels of
ability. Everyonewillbe able to participate in workouts,and limitations willbe
accommodated to if necessary.
24. Are there certain programs that focus on just speed, just strength, or a targeted muscle group?
We occasionally get elite athletes whose main goal is to train withus to reduce their 40
yard dash time or increase their vertical leap by 3 or 4 inches. This can be very
important if one is preparing for an NFL Combine, but for some athletes weneed to step
back and take a lookat the bigger picture. In order for one to improve at these tests of
speed and explosive power, we need to evaluate the individual and lookfor areas of
improvement and assess their strengths. We here at EXOSdo not target muscle groups,
but rather, we train MOVEMENTS.Youneed to ask yourself,am I moving/running as
efficiently and effectively as I can? Am I utilizing my body’s pillar (core) to conduct
energy/force and provide myself with the stability I am capable of? We are here to
provide you withthe answers and help youreach the state of peak performance you’re
capable of.
25. Will I get my money refunded if I decide EXOSis not forme?
Any payments made within EXOSagreements/contracts are non-refundable and, if
services go unused by Client, cannot be applied to purchase of future services.
