PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW
ASSIGNMENT I
Select a legislation from the given list or any other enabling legislation of your
choice(with permission of the relevant lecturer) and critically comment on the
extent to which it has succeeded in bringing in International standards into the
domestic law. You should also focus on the policy guidelines which could have
influenced the adoption of such legislation conforming to international law.
Instructions:
1. This is a Take-Home assignment
2. Register your name and the chosenAct in the file kept in the
Department of Public and International Law by the 10th of
December 2013. The choice must be approved by your teacher.
3. The Maximum number of students who can register for one Act is
20– and approval will be given on thebasis of first-come-firstserved.
4. The assignment should preferably be word-processed in font size
12Times New Roman or font size 12 FMAbhaya or 12 sizeKalaham
font.
5. You must attach both the Act and the Convention chosen by you
with your assignment
6. Word Limit: 1500 words.
7. Marks: 15 Marks (10 marks for the comments on the relevant
provisions of the Act and the Convention and 5 Marks for the
analysis of the policy guidelines.
