The general partner of Goodman Lumber Company until 2000, San Francisco-based Charles Goodman has four decades of experience in the building industry. Involved with several organizations throughout the San Francisco area, Charlie Goodman founded the fundraising organization Shifting Gears USA in 2012. Through Shifting Gears, Charles Goodman’s charitable activities include sponsoring Hospice By The Bay, among others.

Charlie Goodman founded the fundraising

charitable activities include sponsoring Hospice
By The Bay, among others.
Founded as Hospice of Marin in 1975, Hospice By
The Bay is the second longest-running hospice in
the country.

3.  A nonprofit organization certified by both
Medicare and Medi-Cali, the hospice is also a
Partner Level One with We Honor Veterans,
and is committed to providing veterans with
quality end-of-life care. To treat all of its
patients and their families with the care and
dignity they deserve, Hospice By The Bay is
equipped for the full range of hospice needs,
from pediatric care and palliative care
consultation to traditional hospice care and
advanced care planning.

4.  Hospice By The Bay also partners with the
Moyer Foundation to sponsor an annual
youth grief support weekend, Camp Erin
Oakland/Bay Area, which is free for all
campers. Designed to help youth express
their grief, cope with their loss, and build
trust and self-esteem in the wake of a
traumatic loss, the event mixes fun camp
activities with therapeutic exercises.
