Biography
Charis Spanoudi was born in Nicosia in 1991,she is in the fifth year of her studies at
the School of Visual and Applied Arts, in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her
professors are Giorgos Golfinos, Giorgos Divaris and Labros Psyrrakis
She has participated in the group exhibition “Closed” in 2013, and at the “In art”
exhibition in 2014-15 at the Zina Athanassiadou gallery.
Her field of research deals with mapping landscapes with abstract forms that make
up a finction world, and a game with the vacuum which creates various layers. The
main material that she uses is carton. The technique used is mixed media and com-
bines collage and painting. She uses simple materials such as packaging cardboard,
corrugated carton, paper from old books, wood layouts, cork, cardboard (canson),
atlakol, acrylic paint, and black markers.
An important element in her work is the color palette which she uses comprising
earth colors such as ocher,shades of gray, brown and white.In combinaton with its
theme that has a linear character design with various personal movements, such as
spiral, coil and vertical lines tie everything together and create the composition.
The mutual element in the project presented bolow is the combination of layers,which
is achieved by the removal of some parts of the art work , and by placing the board in
a parallel arrangement.
