2. The primary option for our performance is the
drama studio at sixth form. The advantages of
using this facility is the fact that it has
professional lighting equipment as well as a
curtain around the whole room to avoid any
external light coming in. As well, the room is
far more practical in terms of space than the
photography studio which would certainly not
fit our four-piece band.
3. The issue we face with using the drama studio is
permission to transport our borrowed instruments
from Marlwood 6th form. If we are not able to do this,
then we will need to film at Marlwood in order to
accommodate a drum kit into the performance.
The drum kit is an integral part to our overall product
as it expresses key conventions of a band performing in
the video. To add to this, there is also an opportunity to
shoot many more angles at different durations with the
inclusion of a drum kit. Thus, we will be doing all we
can to include a drum kit without compromising the
quality of our chosen location.
4. Like the drama studio, this location provides a
large space to accommodate our band. In
addition, this location will allow us to use a
drum kit. Whilst on the one hand it won’t
restrict our set up as a band, there are some
drawbacks. For instance, the hall is fairly
simple in terms of lighting and we, therefore,
may not be able to get the lighting we desire.
5. Similar to Castle 6th form drama studio, this
location can provide the opportunity to use an
exclusive scene. By this I mean that the studio
will not leak any lighting and we can shoot no
matter what time of day it is. In practice, this
seems the most logical option as it boasts
similar qualities to castle 6th form but also
allows us to use a drum kit.
