Being Fair in Recruitment
It is illegal for an employer to
discriminate against a candidate in
any part of the recruitment process
because of their -
age,
disability,
race,
belief,
sexual orientation
gender
Every candidate must have the same
opportunity to succeed
Everyone should be asked the same questions
All questions must be relevant to the job
Each interview should last the same amount of time
The same panel should interview all the candidates
Any task or informal interview should be the same for each person
Equal opportunities monitoring and personal details should be
separate from the application form
The candidate needs to be told before the interview what they will
be assessed on
The panel must decide how candidates are assessed before they
start the recruitment process
