INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK:- At the close of market hours, the Sensex closed down 218.1 points or 0.6% at 36324.1, while the Nifty was lower by 76.3 points or 0.6% at 10977.5. The market breadth is negative as 767 shares advanced, against a decline of 1,793 shares, while 167 shares were unchanged.Shares of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, and Bharti Infratel were the top gainers, while Yes Bank, Maruti, and Indiabulls Housing have lost the most. . GLOBAL FACE ! Asian Market - Asian markets finished lower today with shares in Japan leading the region. The Nikkei 225 is down 0.99% while China's Shanghai Composite is off 0.54% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng is lower by 0.36%. ! U.S. Market - US Federal Reserve raises key interest rate by 25 bps. ! European markets - European markets are mixed. The FTSE 100 is higher by 0.25%, while the DAX is leading the CAC 40 lower. They are down 0.12% and 0.02% respectively. Aviation stocks dive as govt imposes services contract with Anglo American 5% duty on jet fuel HCL Technologies (HCL), a leading global technology company, announced a five-year infrastructure services deal with global diversified mining business Anglo American.The multi-year deal will see HCL to continue to support Anglo American through the adoption of cloud, reducing Anglo American’s global data center footprint through the continued consolidation of its on premise infrastructure and partial migration to an Infrastructure-as- a-Service operating model. ! Amara Raja signs pact with Johnson Controls Tech Shares of aviation companies slid in the late morning session on Thursday after the Government of India imposed 5% import duty on jet fuel or aviation turbine fuel (ATF).Shares of Jet Airways plummeted ~8%, SpiceJet slid ~1%, and InterGlobe Aviation fell ~2%, also touching their respective 52-week lows on Thursday.The imposition of import duty on jet fuel will have a major impact on the operations of these aviation companies, which are already struggling with the higher fuel prices. Amara Raja Batteries has entered into an agreement with Johnson Controls Technology Company (JC), USA, for acquiring the license to manufacture advanced stamped grid plate-making technology.It has also entered into a technology collaboration agreement with JC that will enable the Company to manufacture advanced lead-acid batteries, as per BSE data. ! Hero MotoCorp to hike product prices to combat rising commodity costs Hero MotoCorp Limited (HMCL), the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer, has announced a price increase in its motorcycles and scooters, up to Rs900 per model.This rise was announced by the company to stock exchanges on September 26, 2018. The price hike has been taken to offset rising raw material (and commodity) costs and currency depreciation.
