1. RULES AND INFORMATION
All school age girls must be registered in school or must have graduated in the 2011-2012
school year.
Girls must not be married or have ever been married.
Must not be or have ever been pregnant or have any children.
Must be ages 3-18.
Must have application and sponsorship/entry fees of $60.00
TURNED IN BY JULY 1, 2012.

After this date, there will be a $15.00 late fee.
The Miss Vernon Area Pageant will consist of two mandatory categories. There will be interviews in
the morning and formal wear in the evening. During the interview each girl will spend
approximately three minutes with the judges. The judges will ask questions from the information
you provide on the application. Interview outfit will consist of pageant t-shirt and jeans.After each girl is
interviewed they will be given the opportunity to practice before the evening competition. We will
also have practices before the date of the pageant and someone will notify you of those dates and
times. For the eveningwear category, the girls will need a formal dress. Points may be taken away
because of distracting accessories, such as large bows, hats or anything else that will draw attention
away from the contestant. The two optional categories are:
Photogenic: Photogenic pictures may be no larger than 8x10’s, and must be turned in during one of
the rehearsals. Fees are to be turned in by the deadline along with the application. You can enter
only one photo, and it can be either color, or black and white. You will need to include name, age,
and the word ‘photogenic’ on a piece of paper, and attach it to the back of your photo. Photos will be
returned after the pageant. (This is an optional category. There will be an extra $15.00 charge)
Portfolio: Portfolio pictures may be no larger than 8x10’s, and must be turned in during one of the
rehearsals. No more than 10 photos can be submitted and no pictures with crowns or banners. Fees
are to be turned in by the deadline along with the application. Please have your name and age
somewhere on the front of your portfolio. Photos will be returned after the pageant. (This is an
optional category. There will be an extra $15.00 charge)
The Miss Vernon Area Pageant will also give an additional award for most ticket sales. Please call
for additional information.
Each of the optional events will have an extra fee of $15.00. All fees must be turned in with the
applications. Please remember the deadline for early entry is July 1, 2012, and there will be a
$15.00late fee for any applications turned in after that date.

3. Participant’s Name
As the parents/legal guardian of the participant named above, I do hereby agree to abide by the rules
and regulations as set forth by the Miss Vernon Area Pageant. I agree to hold the Miss Vernon Area
Pageant Director and staff members harmless of any damages or liabilities due to theft, accident or
injury during or resulting from any child’s participation in this pageant. I understand and agree
that in the case of cancellation of the pageant, that said pageant will be canceled without benefit of
refund; however, the pageant will be rescheduled at another time and location. I understand that the
judges’ decisions are final. I understand that failure to show good sportsmanship may result in
disqualification of the contestant without refund and forfeiture of any awards received. I agree
and confirm that all of the enclosed information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and
belief. I understand and agree that the above named contestant, if declared winner must make two
documented appearances, and return at the end of her reign to crown her successor. I understand
that in the event of known pregnancy, marriage, quitting school or any illegal or immoral activity,
the winner will have to forfeit her title. The first runner-up will then become the reigning queen.
