"What do you admire, and what do you find to criticise, in Odysseus' behaviour as a hero?"
What I admire about Odysseus' behaviour as a hero is his confidence. Rather than being self–doubting of his abilities he is proud of them. We see this
in Book 9 when he deals with the Cyclops Polyphemus. Firstly, he tells the Cyclops his name is 'Nobody'. This idea helps him to escape at the end
when Polyphemus screams "O my friends, it's Nobody's treachery, not violence that is doing me to death", and the other Cyclopes believe that nobody
is hurting him.
He escapes the cave using a sharpened, burning stick to blind the son of Poseidon, and then laughs to himself about how the 'cunning notion of a false
name' fooled the Cyclops. He shows a lot of...show more content...
Skills with a weapon are necessary to have for a hero.
Book 22 sees the great battle between Odysseus and the suitors. He kills all the suitors despite their pleas. He shows some compassion however when
he saves Phemius and Medon, who were forced to work for the suitors. He could have killed them just like all the others, but spares their lives at the
request of his son. I admire that he is kind to them after being so ruthless to the others.
Book 23 is when Odysseus and Penelope get together again. Odysseus shows why he went through his journey in this book. After all the obstacles
and deaths of his friends he has reached his goal. I admire him as a hero in this book because we see he really cares for Penelope. I think back at all
that he went through in his journey and admire him because he did it all for her and their son.
Some might argue that Odysseus was not just simply confident, but arrogant. We see an example of his arrogance in Book 9. Once he has escaped
from the cave of Polyphemus he decides to taunt the Cyclops. He reveals his real name and says 'So he was not such a weakling after all, the man
whose friends you meant to overpower and eat in your hollow cave!". This taunting nearly costs him his life as Polyphemus throws a rock at the ship
and misses. The Cyclops also curses Odysseus. Had he been quiet he may not have went through as much suffering.
In Book 10 he needs help from Hermes to save him and his crew.

Heroes are the people in the society that we admire for or venerated for the courage they portray, noble qualities, and the outstanding achievements
associated with them. In every community, anyone who attains the hero status, he/she creates ideals and ideas that the community creates and strives
for. Heroes are individuals who assist in shaping the culture of the community they are associated with in the literature, the community also shapes the
heroes too. The motivation and zeal of the heroes to attain more are always shaped by their culture ("Heroes and The Homeric Iliad"). Social conditions
and culture create the essence of the hero in which the people need at the time.
In my case, I will be making a comparison of the Achilles,...show more content...
Achilles is portrayed as the selfish character because he wanted the community to honor him and compensate him while Beowulf on the other side, he
wanted the opposite. He didn't want the honors but instead fought to assist his community. Beowulf had a fight with Grendel and Grendel's mother to
save Hrothgar and his community. He also went into a fight with the dragon to save his people. Achilles for honor and rewards. Aeneas went into battle
for the sake of rebuilding what had been snatched from his community.
Aeneas and Beowulf portrayed almost the same characters even though one dies while the other one is picked by the gods and lives. They both
represented great piety. Something else they portrayed is they was presented with quests. In this quest, it is written they were both controlled by the
gods. Aeneas did accept the god's choice even though there were passionate impulses which were feared might get into his way. Throughout Aeneid,
Aeneas quest shows devotion, fortitude and the acceptance of his fate to become the hero of his people and the Roman culture. He accepts the quest to
find a home for the Trojans. Beowulf quest was to fight off three giant monsters. "The monsters were, Grendel, Grendel's nanny, and the dragon–and
the superhuman hero who fights against them appear beside other examples of nonhuman nature (Puchner, 1230).

The Person I Admire Most
THE PERSON I ADMIRE MOST Talk about the person that I admire so much, a lot of names run through my mind. My mother, sister and some
good friends. I even wanted to write about Shim Changmin, the man that made my eyes pop out and he is my love at first sight among the
Korean boy bands. But then , I decided to write about a person whom I admire so much and who has influenced me a lot . she is my best friend
from my hometown, Kerteh , Terengganu. Her name is Khairunnisa and everyone calls her NIsa. She is as pretty as her name but she does not
seem to realise this or she chooses to ignore it. She has a face that every girl would die for. She has silky soft , white creamy skin. Her sparkling hazel

She has silky soft , white creamy skin. Her sparkling hazel eyes are complemented by dark sooty lashes . Her hair is straight , waist length and
lustrous like the models in the Rejoice shampoo advertisement. She is a simple girl but yet other girls are envious of her. Though she is petite,
small and slender she is strong willed and matured. It is not her physical appearance that made me admire her. Her personality attracts people like
magnets. She is friendly, talks politely to everyone, has a good sense of humour, caring and a good Muslimah. Another good thing about her , she
has no time for puppy love. Although she has many good looking suitors flirting with her, my elder brother included, she paid no attention to all of
them. Sometimes I wish she had introduced some of the guys to me. However , being a good Muslimah, she stays away from doing sins. She also
has a wonderful family. Her father is a successful businessman, while her mom is a loving and caring housewife . Her talkative 6 year old sister ,
who has a strong resemblance to her, can speak English fluently. Her younger brother, I bet would grow up to be the most handsome boy in town.
Moreover, her love of knowledge is the main reason why I admire her very much. She is truly a beauty with brains. As we know, good looks and
intelligence are the most difficult combination to find in a person. Yet she makes nothing of it. I have known her for years and in those years she never

Person Who Has Inspired Me Most
Everyone needs to be inspired and having others inspire you can only have positive effects. Its one of life's win win things. By acting in ways that
inspire others we ourselves benefit, as we are giving rather than receiving. Also, those we inspire benefit and hopefully go on to inspire others in turn.
It can only be good thing for society as a whole when we are inspired by others and are ourselves an inspiration to ohers.
So who has inspired me? Well, as a young person there were many people who inspired me. I didn't have a particularly easy childhood, as I grew up in
relative poverty and my parents divorced when I was aged 8, after a traumatic marriage. Still, I managed to developed a fairly positive, life is a "glass

Parents who lost children were amongst the most inspiring but sometimes it was individuals who showed joy at life's blessings such as the birth of a
child. When my wife was in hospital with complications before the birth of our son, we became friends with an Ethiopian couple who were having
similar problems and they were an inspiration with their constant joy and faith, whatever the situation. We have remained friends ever since and though
they have experienced many trials in life since, they remain as positive and joyful as ever, no doubt due, in large part, to their faith.
These are all people I have met, but many who I have never met have also been an inspiration. Who can fail to be inspired by Rev.Martin Luther King
and Nelson Mandela? The list is too long to write out in full but here are some others who have inspired me in a particular area or in general:
. Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan with their music and lyrics
Queen Elizabeth II with her devotion to duty, ability to relate to anyone and everyone and her fortitude when life deals her a poor hand
Ansel Adams – photographer
Those who forgive the murderers of their loved ones when all the world is full of hate and bitterness

Why Be Chosen For This Program Essay
Why should you be chosen for this program? I think I should be chosen for this program because this could be a great opportunity to challenge my
comfort level in what I imagine is a fast–paced and overwhelming environment. Also, I am very interested in exploring the medical profession and
enjoy working with and helping others. Another reason is that I really want to see if I am capable or have what it takes to work in this
challenging, yet rewarding field. I realize I will possibly shadow doctors and nurses while they are doing their work and want to know if this is the
profession for me with all the blood, vomit and needles. I enjoy challenging myself with in education, musical interests, art, reading, and being around

The extremely high price for medical care is affecting many people who can't afford it and as a result, they are suffering and not able to treat or
manage their conditions. For example, if a person gets a cavity and goes to the dentist but doesn't have insurance or enough money to pay for the
office visit and procedure, they are unable to receive a filling, leaving that cavity to get worse. As a result, people are forced to leave the state to get
the care that they need elsewhere, where it is more affordable because it's not an option for them in the U.S. Healthcare should be more affordable
and available for the common person. Whether it's a necessary surgery, conditions related to cancer, diabetes or medications, lack of insurance or

completed their chores around my grandmother's farm, maintained good hygiene practices, and kept up with their schoolwork. School was extremely

I admire the simple, humble heart of people, showing as they care about others, not trying to impress anyone or be the center of attention. Especially
for its ability to respect others. When I admire someone, I do it by looking at many things, but never at his physical appearance or economic status. In
order to admire someone, that person has to have qualities that money cannot buy. Many people loop at the physical appearance, the way we dress,
and the material things this person possesses or gives. To me it should not be that way.
Although this person has been through a lot in his life, he has never lost hope and desire to move forward. He does not give up easily, but continues

Who Do You Think You Are? Essay
"Who Do You Think You Are?" Think about "how" you have come to believe you possess those traits. What specific person or event has influenced
your thinking about each trait? Finally analyze what aspects you like & dislike about yourself. What would you like to keep, change, or improve about
your self–concept? Be sure to incorporate terms and concepts from the text and lectures in your analysis – note the page in parentheses like this (p.89)
of terms/concepts that support your writing. Introduction: Accurately portraying a self–image of who I am is very important, but it is not easy at all.
The real "self" is not just about "me" but about "us". That is, how I see myself compared to how other people think and feel about me as well (p. 54).
Positive self–concept is an important element in our communication process and understanding it will contribute to our success in communication. In
addition to self–concept, our perceptions in interpersonal communication are very important as well; the perception is how we describe ourselves to
others; it influences our communication choices (p. 63) and can be distorted by our stereotypes and prejudices. With what being introduced about
self–concept and perceptions and to understand them, I would like to share with you about who I think I am. Main paragraphs: 1.How would you
describe your physical condition and/or appearance? (tall, short, attractive, weak, strong, muscular, etc.) Being an Asian, I am an average man in height

Macbeth is not a villain in whom there is little to admire; he in fact, contains many characteristics that responders would look up to and to some extent,
respect. Bravery and courage is shown with Macbeth throughout the play which causes us to admire him. What ultimately had caused Macbeth's rise
and downfall is what the witches had dishonesty masqueraded, and thus Macbeth's character flaw had provoked the events happening. Moreover,
although Macbeth had committed many awful and unforgivable deeds, within him, is the guilt and remorse for those people who were his victims.
Many times he have had questioned himself whether what he was doing was right, showing how there is compassion within him. Ambition and

Having at least considered that, Macbeth shows an admirable feature; he knows that it isn't right and is something which he shouldn't be even thinking
about. Macbeth also considers that King Duncan is at his house in double trust. Firstly because "I am his kinsman and his subject, Strong both against
the deed;" (Lines 13–14) and secondly because "then, as his host, who should against his murderer shut the door, Not bear the knife myself" (Lines
14–16). Macbeth's aspiration of being king is great, yet he does consider the reasons why he should leave things as it is, and this causes us to admire
Macbeth and his reasoning because we know how much Macbeth had wanted to be king, yet he decided to not go ahead.
Additionally King Duncan has been a good King that is well liked by everyone, and Macbeth knows this "his virtues Will plead like angels
trumpet–tongu'd against The deep damnation of his taking–off;" (Line 18–20). Furthermore, Macbeth argues that he has no reason to kill his king but
to satisfy his ambition. Hence, he knows that the reasons against killing Duncan are greater than his reasons for. This was why Macbeth had settled
with the conclusion of not killing Duncan, "We will proceed no further in this business" (Line 33) and showed loyalty to his king (before Lady
Macbeth came a persuaded him to do otherwise). Therefore, proving that Macbeth is not a villain in whom there is

my mother because she has accomplished many things while going through very hard times. The last person that I admire the most is my father. My

What I Admire My Favorite Culture Essay
Passion to me is something that you enjoy doing every day and never grow tired of it. For me, I have two major passions; learning about different
countries cultures, and being environmentally friendly.
I am extremely passionate about learning about different countries cultures. I consider it to be truly fascinating how many different ways of life exist.
My appetite for different cultures came to be when I was in 6th grade. I went to an Egyptian museum and fell in love with hieroglyphics and admired
their beliefs in that many gods. After that, I was introduced to anime and became infatuated with it, along with the Japanese Culture. I adore so many
different cultures; however, my favorite culture has to be Japan. What I admire most about the Japanese culture is the language, fashion, art, music, and
traditions. I plan to apply my knowledge cultural anthropology as an entrepreneur, in order to become an ambassador for cultural acceptance among
my peers. It is my belief is that culture will help people better understand one another, even if their way of life is different from someone else 's
they will realize that we are alike in many ways, we are all humans and we all make mistakes. I want to adapt to and build a foundation of a culture
that would contribute to a world where people feel valued and respected for their differences. My other major passion is being environmentally friendly,
or eco–friendly. My passion for being environmentally friendly began in high school when I

Which historical figure do you admire most and why?:
"They cannot stop me. I will get my education if it is in home, school or any place" Malala Yousafzai declared in an interview with Diane Sawyer (Teri

defiance to the Taliban. Her mission is to impact the world of education. In 2012, when she was my age (fifteen), Malala was shot by the Taliban on
her school bus for openly supporting girls' rights to education in Pakistan. As an insightful young girl, she openly acknowledged that a child should
not be in fear just to attend school. Faced with a decision impossible for an adult to make, she saw that she had two choices: "one was to remain

The person whom I admired first time is my mother. But, if we talk about the famous person, I can say that, he is Mahatma Gandhi. He was from
India. He is known as the "Father of nation" in India as he played a very important role in gaining the freedom of India.
Mahatma Gandhi gave the Indian People not only freedom but also the new thoughts on non–violence and sustainable living. There are some qualities
about him like trust, non–violence, legacy, etc. These qualities are the ones that inspired me. He said that "If my faith burns bright as I hope it will

Meghavi: Why you believe in non–violence? Why did you choose the path of Non–violence protesting?
Gandhi: "There are many causes that I am prepare to die for but no causes that I am prepared to kill for". I was like this from my childhood. I was
inspired for promoting non–violence by the religions of India, especially Jainism and Hinduism. I don't like to kill anybody or even insects because
we can't make them alive, so we have not right to kill them. Since people used violence to gain freedom for India, we got our independence a few
years later than we would have if we had only used non–violence.
Meghavi: How do you feel about the criticism towards your ideas?
Gandhi: Sometimes, I feel awful when I heard about the negative remarks about me. However, I took them in a positive aspect. I accept full
responsibilities for the results of my actions.
Meghavi: Why did you decide to wear only 'Khadi' (Kind of fabric) that is made by 'Charkha'? (Spinning wheel, the equipment by which you can make

Gandhi: I don't want to wear any kind of the fabric that is not made in India. One more thing that is by making the fabric, we can try to remove the
unemployment from the India as there is large amount of unemployment.

Characteristics of a Hero Essay
Characteristics of a Hero
"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself" (Campbell 1). When we think of heroes most of us think of
movie stars or professional athletes, but it's not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What I think make a
great hero is someone who is able to overcome his or her obstacles in life, is highly motivated, and has plenty of bravery.
Overcoming obstacles may be one of the hardest parts of being a hero. I think it's the hardest because a lot of people are blocked from doing something
and just quit. A great example of thistrait is Jackie Robinson. He was discriminated against because he was African–American. Even though...show

In order to be a successful hero you must be a highly motivated person. Without motivation you would not be very successful because you would
have no ambition to try and make a difference in the world. I think Rodney Dangerfield is a great example of this because he started he career at
just 15 and he died while he was in the middle of a movie. Also when his wife tried to make him quit he just blew their many years of happiness and
divorced her. In one of his quotes he stated, "At twenty a man is full of fight and hope. He wants to reform the world. When he's seventy he still wants
to reform the world" (Dangerfield 3).
Bravery is a great trait for a hero to posses. I think bravery is a key quality because you don't always know what lies ahead of you and you have to be
brave to continue. A good example of this is Charles Lindburgh. He was the first person to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. I believe that took a great
amount of bravery because no one had ever made it across, so he didn't know what lie ahead of him. One of his many good quotes he said, "The most
effective way to do it, is to just do it", (Lindburgh 1).
So as you may see overcoming obstacles, being motivated and being outstandingly brave is key to becoming a great hero.Like overcoming obstacles
was very hard for

What Makes A Company Admirable? Essay
Internet Assignment #2 – Fortune What makes a company admirable? What sets them apart from the other millions of companies? To determine the
attributes that make up the companies that are praiseworthy, I will dive into Fortune magazine's "World's Most Admired Companies" for 2016 and
compare it to the edition released in 2010. This list consists of the top fifty most admired companies based on nine 'key attributes of excellence.' The
overall score of each company is established by the average of all the scores for each attribute. The study is done by Fortune's partners at Korn Ferry
Hay Group who survey "approximately 15,600 senior executives, outside directors, and industry analysts" (Korn Ferry Institute). As one can imagine,
this list is not the same and in fact only four of the companies from the 2010 article landed a spot on the 2016 article. Reputation means a lot if a
company wants to survive and thrive in the world as we know it. Who are these organizations and why are they respected so much that they are
considered top ten?
Who Are They and Where Do They Stand Today? First, let us take a look at the list for 2016 as well as the list for 2010 to get an understanding of
who they are and compare the two lists. Listed below are the two lists of the top ten most admired companies; on the left is 2010 and on the right is

Essay on Why I admire Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin completed many accomplishments from childhood to adulthood. When he was just 22 he established his first printing business
with a partner, Hugh Meredith. Benjamin soon bought out Hugh Meredith's share. In 1732, when Franklin was only 26 he published the first edition
of 'Poor Richards Almanack,' the book shows evidence that it was successful for 25 years. 'Poor Richards Almanack' allowed Franklin to retire from
business a rich man in 1748. In 1741 Benjamin Franklin invented the Franklin Stove. The stove was handy for both, heating a room or cooking. In
1752 Benjamin Franklin conducted his famous electricity experiment with a kite. In 1757 Franklin returned to England as a Colonial agent for

Finally, in 1785 Franklin returned home to Philadelphia and accepted the Presidency of the Pennsylvania council. In 1771 Franklin signed the
Constitution of the United states. In 1790 on April 17 Benjamin died.
Benjamin Franklin and I are alike in some ways. One way that he and I are alike is we are both always looking for something that needs
improvement or a way to further our knowledge. For example, when Benjamin saw that stoves were not good for heating but only good for cooking it
inspired him to make the Franklin stove. I think that this is a good quality that Benjamin had that made him successful in life. I hope that one day I can
be successful just like Benjamin Franklin. That his how Benjamin and I are alike. We both are always thinking of new thing and ways to further out
knowledge.
Benjamin Franklin changed the world by inventing new things like, the Franklin Stove and bifocal glasses. If it was not for him we would not have
these things today. Franklin also helped create the Declaration of Independence which led to America?s freedom. He also changed America?s opinion
about war, before everyone wanted to fight but Benjamin believed in peace. Today I will write about how Benjamin changed America by helping with
the Declaration of Independence. It all started in 1776 when Benjamin Franklin helped draft the Declaration, which was announced on July, 4. Then in
the fall or 1776 Benjamin went to France to implore the cause.

A Person Who I Admire
A person who I admire A person who I admire is an interesting topic. I believe you can admire more than one person. A typical admiration I have
seen is when people boy, are admiring a very famous singer, actor etc. although it is typical, it is still a good admiration because you can use that
person as your role model or idol. Fx. If your role model is a sportsman, then you can admire his performing skills, and maybe learn something from
him or her. But trough my life I have admired many persons, friends, older people, teachers, etc. All these people have given me experiences and
personal abilities which I have acquired with help from them. My opinion is that I cannot admire one person specially. When I admire someone I

That's why im not just admiring them but also respecting them when they are giving me orders. I am helping them with assignments. Finally I very
appreciate them for after my opinion being the best parents for me. My parents are them who I admire most, I don't know exactly why but your
parents will always be there for you. A friend or some other randomly people are not the same as your parents. When you admire you parents they are
admiring you too, that's maybe not the same to other people. You like them but maybe they don't like you. Even when my parents die I will remember
them in my mind and there soul and goodness will still be living in

  • 2. "What do you admire, and what do you find to criticise, in Odysseus' behaviour as a hero?" What I admire about Odysseus' behaviour as a hero is his confidence. Rather than being self–doubting of his abilities he is proud of them. We see this in Book 9 when he deals with the Cyclops Polyphemus. Firstly, he tells the Cyclops his name is 'Nobody'. This idea helps him to escape at the end when Polyphemus screams "O my friends, it's Nobody's treachery, not violence that is doing me to death", and the other Cyclopes believe that nobody is hurting him. He escapes the cave using a sharpened, burning stick to blind the son of Poseidon, and then laughs to himself about how the 'cunning notion of a false name' fooled the Cyclops. He shows a lot of...show more content... Skills with a weapon are necessary to have for a hero. Book 22 sees the great battle between Odysseus and the suitors. He kills all the suitors despite their pleas. He shows some compassion however when he saves Phemius and Medon, who were forced to work for the suitors. He could have killed them just like all the others, but spares their lives at the request of his son. I admire that he is kind to them after being so ruthless to the others. Book 23 is when Odysseus and Penelope get together again. Odysseus shows why he went through his journey in this book. After all the obstacles and deaths of his friends he has reached his goal. I admire him as a hero in this book because we see he really cares for Penelope. I think back at all that he went through in his journey and admire him because he did it all for her and their son. Some might argue that Odysseus was not just simply confident, but arrogant. We see an example of his arrogance in Book 9. Once he has escaped from the cave of Polyphemus he decides to taunt the Cyclops. He reveals his real name and says 'So he was not such a weakling after all, the man whose friends you meant to overpower and eat in your hollow cave!". This taunting nearly costs him his life as Polyphemus throws a rock at the ship and misses. The Cyclops also curses Odysseus. Had he been quiet he may not have went through as much suffering. In Book 10 he needs help from Hermes to save him and his crew. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Heroes are the people in the society that we admire for or venerated for the courage they portray, noble qualities, and the outstanding achievements associated with them. In every community, anyone who attains the hero status, he/she creates ideals and ideas that the community creates and strives for. Heroes are individuals who assist in shaping the culture of the community they are associated with in the literature, the community also shapes the heroes too. The motivation and zeal of the heroes to attain more are always shaped by their culture ("Heroes and The Homeric Iliad"). Social conditions and culture create the essence of the hero in which the people need at the time. In my case, I will be making a comparison of the Achilles,...show more content... Achilles is portrayed as the selfish character because he wanted the community to honor him and compensate him while Beowulf on the other side, he wanted the opposite. He didn't want the honors but instead fought to assist his community. Beowulf had a fight with Grendel and Grendel's mother to save Hrothgar and his community. He also went into a fight with the dragon to save his people. Achilles for honor and rewards. Aeneas went into battle for the sake of rebuilding what had been snatched from his community. Aeneas and Beowulf portrayed almost the same characters even though one dies while the other one is picked by the gods and lives. They both represented great piety. Something else they portrayed is they was presented with quests. In this quest, it is written they were both controlled by the gods. Aeneas did accept the god's choice even though there were passionate impulses which were feared might get into his way. Throughout Aeneid, Aeneas quest shows devotion, fortitude and the acceptance of his fate to become the hero of his people and the Roman culture. He accepts the quest to find a home for the Trojans. Beowulf quest was to fight off three giant monsters. "The monsters were, Grendel, Grendel's nanny, and the dragon–and the superhuman hero who fights against them appear beside other examples of nonhuman nature (Puchner, 1230). "Beowulf emerges as a written work of literature only at the end of generations of transmission as song, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Person I Admire Most THE PERSON I ADMIRE MOST Talk about the person that I admire so much, a lot of names run through my mind. My mother, sister and some good friends. I even wanted to write about Shim Changmin, the man that made my eyes pop out and he is my love at first sight among the Korean boy bands. But then , I decided to write about a person whom I admire so much and who has influenced me a lot . she is my best friend from my hometown, Kerteh , Terengganu. Her name is Khairunnisa and everyone calls her NIsa. She is as pretty as her name but she does not seem to realise this or she chooses to ignore it. She has a face that every girl would die for. Her sparkling hazel eyes are complemented by dark sooty lashes . Her hair is straight , waist length and lustrous like the models in the Rejoice shampoo advertisement. She is a simple girl but yet other girls are envious of her. Though she is petite, small and slender she is strong willed and matured. It is not her physical appearance that made me admire her. Her personality attracts people like magnets. She is friendly, talks politely to everyone, has a good sense of humour, caring and a good Muslimah. Another good thing about her , she has no time for puppy love. Although she has many good looking suitors flirting with her, my elder brother included, she paid no attention to all of them. Sometimes I wish she had introduced some of the guys to me. However , being a good Muslimah, she stays away from doing sins. She also has a wonderful family. Her father is a successful businessman, while her mom is a loving and caring housewife . Her talkative 6 year old sister , who has a strong resemblance to her, can speak English fluently. Her younger brother, I bet would grow up to be the most handsome boy in town. Moreover, her love of knowledge is the main reason why I admire her very much. She is truly a beauty with brains. As we know, good looks and intelligence are the most difficult combination to find in a person. Yet she makes nothing of it. I have known her for years and in those years she never said anything Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Person Who Has Inspired Me Most Everyone needs to be inspired and having others inspire you can only have positive effects. Its one of life's win win things. By acting in ways that inspire others we ourselves benefit, as we are giving rather than receiving. Also, those we inspire benefit and hopefully go on to inspire others in turn. It can only be good thing for society as a whole when we are inspired by others and are ourselves an inspiration to ohers. So who has inspired me? Well, as a young person there were many people who inspired me. I didn't have a particularly easy childhood, as I grew up in relative poverty and my parents divorced when I was aged 8, after a traumatic marriage. Still, I managed to developed a fairly positive, life is a "glass half full"...show more content... Parents who lost children were amongst the most inspiring but sometimes it was individuals who showed joy at life's blessings such as the birth of a child. When my wife was in hospital with complications before the birth of our son, we became friends with an Ethiopian couple who were having similar problems and they were an inspiration with their constant joy and faith, whatever the situation. We have remained friends ever since and though they have experienced many trials in life since, they remain as positive and joyful as ever, no doubt due, in large part, to their faith. These are all people I have met, but many who I have never met have also been an inspiration. Who can fail to be inspired by Rev.Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela? The list is too long to write out in full but here are some others who have inspired me in a particular area or in general: . Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan with their music and lyrics Queen Elizabeth II with her devotion to duty, ability to relate to anyone and everyone and her fortitude when life deals her a poor hand Ansel Adams – photographer Those who forgive the murderers of their loved ones when all the world is full of hate and bitterness Anyone who has overcome disability to live life to the full, often much more than me, to my shame. • 6. Why Be Chosen For This Program Essay Why should you be chosen for this program? I think I should be chosen for this program because this could be a great opportunity to challenge my comfort level in what I imagine is a fast–paced and overwhelming environment. Also, I am very interested in exploring the medical profession and enjoy working with and helping others. Another reason is that I really want to see if I am capable or have what it takes to work in this challenging, yet rewarding field. I realize I will possibly shadow doctors and nurses while they are doing their work and want to know if this is the profession for me with all the blood, vomit and needles. I enjoy challenging myself with in education, musical interests, art, reading, and being around all types of people. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate your consideration to be chosen for this program. What traits do you admire in a person and why? The extremely high price for medical care is affecting many people who can't afford it and as a result, they are suffering and not able to treat or manage their conditions. For example, if a person gets a cavity and goes to the dentist but doesn't have insurance or enough money to pay for the office visit and procedure, they are unable to receive a filling, leaving that cavity to get worse. As a result, people are forced to leave the state to get the care that they need elsewhere, where it is more affordable because it's not an option for them in the U.S. Healthcare should be more affordable and available for the common person. My Father: the Person I Admire Most Essays My Father: The Person I Admire Most Over time, there have been several people who have influenced various aspects of my life, based on their personal characteristics, accomplishments, and values. I have been privileged to have had numerous teachers and professors who I respect for their patience and intelligence. There are artists that have inspired me by their natural talents and original creativity. I value many political leaders, who have inspired me by their contributions to society, and their ability to change our futures. He was always very protective and kept a watchful eye over us. My father's protectiveness and selflessness generated at a young age for him. He is the ninth of twelve children, and often told us stories of how he had to look after, and practically raise his three younger siblings after my grandfather had passed. He made certain they completed their chores around my grandmother's farm, maintained good hygiene practices, and kept up with their schoolwork. School was extremely important to my father, because he knew an education was the only way he could be successful. Proudly, he finished high school at the age of sixteen, but could not follow the footsteps of his older brothers and join the military, because he was too young. Therefore, he decided to continue his studies. The completion of his degree in biology was bittersweet. He was the first and the only one in his family to have graduated from college, however, there were not a lot of opportunities for a young African–American male in 1957, in small town Alabama. After taking few odd jobs, he decided to enlist in the military. My father had encountered many challenges in his life, but one of his toughest was seeking to date my mother. • 8. Christopher Gonzalez I admire the simple, humble heart of people, showing as they care about others, not trying to impress anyone or be the center of attention. Especially for its ability to respect others. When I admire someone, I do it by looking at many things, but never at his physical appearance or economic status. In order to admire someone, that person has to have qualities that money cannot buy. Many people loop at the physical appearance, the way we dress, and the material things this person possesses or gives. To me it should not be that way. Although this person has been through a lot in his life, he has never lost hope and desire to move forward. He does not give up easily, but continues with his modesty and good heart. I had the opportunity to meet him a year ago by the social network, Instagram. Although we are not together physically, we communicate daily either by phone, video, call or text. What specific person or event has influenced your thinking about each trait? Finally analyze what aspects you like & dislike about yourself. What would you like to keep, change, or improve about your self–concept? Be sure to incorporate terms and concepts from the text and lectures in your analysis – note the page in parentheses like this (p.89) of terms/concepts that support your writing. In addition to self–concept, our perceptions in interpersonal communication are very important as well; the perception is how we describe ourselves to others; it influences our communication choices (p. 63) and can be distorted by our stereotypes and prejudices. • 10. Macbeth is not a villain in whom there is little to admire; he in fact, contains many characteristics that responders would look up to and to some extent, respect. Bravery and courage is shown with Macbeth throughout the play which causes us to admire him. What ultimately had caused Macbeth's rise and downfall is what the witches had dishonesty masqueraded, and thus Macbeth's character flaw had provoked the events happening. Moreover, although Macbeth had committed many awful and unforgivable deeds, within him, is the guilt and remorse for those people who were his victims. Many times he have had questioned himself whether what he was doing was right, showing how there is compassion within him. Ambition and determination is the major...show more content... Having at least considered that, Macbeth shows an admirable feature; he knows that it isn't right and is something which he shouldn't be even thinking about. Macbeth also considers that King Duncan is at his house in double trust. Firstly because "I am his kinsman and his subject, Strong both against the deed;" (Lines 13–14) and secondly because "then, as his host, who should against his murderer shut the door, Not bear the knife myself" (Lines 14–16). Macbeth's aspiration of being king is great, yet he does consider the reasons why he should leave things as it is, and this causes us to admire Macbeth and his reasoning because we know how much Macbeth had wanted to be king, yet he decided to not go ahead. Additionally King Duncan has been a good King that is well liked by everyone, and Macbeth knows this "his virtues Will plead like angels trumpet–tongu'd against The deep damnation of his taking–off;" (Line 18–20). Furthermore, Macbeth argues that he has no reason to kill his king but to satisfy his ambition. Hence, he knows that the reasons against killing Duncan are greater than his reasons for. This was why Macbeth had settled with the conclusion of not killing Duncan, "We will proceed no further in this business" (Line 33) and showed loyalty to his king (before Lady Macbeth came a persuaded him to do otherwise). Therefore, proving that Macbeth is not a villain in whom there is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For me, I have two major passions; learning about different countries cultures, and being environmentally friendly. I am extremely passionate about learning about different countries cultures. I consider it to be truly fascinating how many different ways of life exist. My appetite for different cultures came to be when I was in 6th grade. I went to an Egyptian museum and fell in love with hieroglyphics and admired their beliefs in that many gods. After that, I was introduced to anime and became infatuated with it, along with the Japanese Culture. I adore so many different cultures; however, my favorite culture has to be Japan. I will get my education if it is in home, school or any place" Malala Yousafzai declared in an interview with Diane Sawyer (Teri Whitfield and Muriel Pearson 2013). Miss Yousafzai, a young woman of courage and bravery from Swat ValleyPakistan, made that statement in defiance to the Taliban. Her mission is to impact the world of education. In 2012, when she was my age (fifteen), Malala was shot by the Taliban on her school bus for openly supporting girls' rights to education in Pakistan. As an insightful young girl, she openly acknowledged that a child should not be in fear just to attend school. Faced with a decision impossible for an adult to make, she saw that she had two choices: "one was to remain silent and wait to be killed and the second, was to speak up and then be killed" (Yousafzai 2014). He is known as the "Father of nation" in India as he played a very important role in gaining the freedom of India. Mahatma Gandhi gave the Indian People not only freedom but also the new thoughts on non–violence and sustainable living. There are some qualities about him like trust, non–violence, legacy, etc. These qualities are the ones that inspired me. I believe in non–violence, therefore I think that killing animals is not right. Also animals are just like humans and we would not kill humans for our meals. Meghavi: Why you believe in non–violence? Why did you choose the path of Non–violence protesting? Gandhi: "There are many causes that I am prepare to die for but no causes that I am prepared to kill for". I was like this from my childhood. I was inspired for promoting non–violence by the religions of India, especially Jainism and Hinduism. I don't like to kill anybody or even insects because we can't make them alive, so we have not right to kill them. Since people used violence to gain freedom for India, we got our independence a few years later than we would have if we had only used non–violence. Meghavi: How do you feel about the criticism towards your ideas? Gandhi: Sometimes, I feel awful when I heard about the negative remarks about me. However, I took them in a positive aspect. I accept full responsibilities for the results of my actions. Meghavi: Why did you decide to wear only 'Khadi' (Kind of fabric) that is made by 'Charkha'? (Spinning wheel, the equipment by which you can make the fabric) Gandhi: I don't want to wear any kind of the fabric that is not made in India. • 15. Characteristics of a Hero Essay Characteristics of a Hero "A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself" (Campbell 1). When we think of heroes most of us think of movie stars or professional athletes, but it's not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What I think make a great hero is someone who is able to overcome his or her obstacles in life, is highly motivated, and has plenty of bravery. Overcoming obstacles may be one of the hardest parts of being a hero. I think it's the hardest because a lot of people are blocked from doing something and just quit. A great example of thistrait is Jackie Robinson. He was discriminated against because he was African–American. Even though...show more content... In order to be a successful hero you must be a highly motivated person. Without motivation you would not be very successful because you would have no ambition to try and make a difference in the world. I think Rodney Dangerfield is a great example of this because he started he career at just 15 and he died while he was in the middle of a movie. Also when his wife tried to make him quit he just blew their many years of happiness and divorced her. In one of his quotes he stated, "At twenty a man is full of fight and hope. He wants to reform the world. When he's seventy he still wants to reform the world" (Dangerfield 3). Bravery is a great trait for a hero to posses. I think bravery is a key quality because you don't always know what lies ahead of you and you have to be brave to continue. A good example of this is Charles Lindburgh. He was the first person to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. I believe that took a great amount of bravery because no one had ever made it across, so he didn't know what lie ahead of him. One of his many good quotes he said, "The most effective way to do it, is to just do it", (Lindburgh 1). So as you may see overcoming obstacles, being motivated and being outstandingly brave is key to becoming a great hero.Like overcoming obstacles was very hard for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

To determine the attributes that make up the companies that are praiseworthy, I will dive into Fortune magazine's "World's Most Admired Companies" for 2016 and compare it to the edition released in 2010. This list consists of the top fifty most admired companies based on nine 'key attributes of excellence.' • 19. Essay on Why I admire Benjamin Franklin Benjamin Franklin completed many accomplishments from childhood to adulthood. When he was just 22 he established his first printing business with a partner, Hugh Meredith. Benjamin soon bought out Hugh Meredith's share. In 1732, when Franklin was only 26 he published the first edition of 'Poor Richards Almanack,' the book shows evidence that it was successful for 25 years. 'Poor Richards Almanack' allowed Franklin to retire from business a rich man in 1748. In 1741 Benjamin Franklin invented the Franklin Stove. The stove was handy for both, heating a room or cooking. One way that he and I are alike is we are both always looking for something that needs improvement or a way to further our knowledge. For example, when Benjamin saw that stoves were not good for heating but only good for cooking it inspired him to make the Franklin stove. I think that this is a good quality that Benjamin had that made him successful in life. I hope that one day I can be successful just like Benjamin Franklin. That his how Benjamin and I are alike. We both are always thinking of new thing and ways to further out knowledge. Benjamin Franklin changed the world by inventing new things like, the Franklin Stove and bifocal glasses. If it was not for him we would not have these things today. Franklin also helped create the Declaration of Independence which led to America?s freedom. He also changed America?s opinion about war, before everyone wanted to fight but Benjamin believed in peace. Today I will write about how Benjamin changed America by helping with the Declaration of Independence. It all started in 1776 when Benjamin Franklin helped draft the Declaration, which was announced on July, 4. Then in the fall or 1776 Benjamin went to France to implore the cause.
