²  Check your tyres
²  Get ready
²  Toilets available in the Bike Park
²  You must leave the Bike Park by 7.30am
²  Do not leave anything on the floor in the
Bike Park.
Before the Start
²  Hand in your streetwear bag between 7.15 and
7.45 (remember to keep your swimming cap and
goggles with you!)
²  Head for the Start area
²  Put on your swimming cap
²  Move into the Start area corresponding to your
swimming ability
(pros at the front on the first row)
²  Warm-up opposite the Exit, End: 7:45
²  Shoes and sandals not permitted in the Start area
8am Swim L Start
²  Start of L race: 2km swim
²  2 1,000m laps
²  Times: 65 minutes (out of the water by
9:05)
11:00 Swim M Start
²  Start of M race: 1km swim
²  1 1,000m lap
²  Times: 45 minutes (out of the water by
11:45)

²  Take your BIKE bag
²  Get changed in the tent
²  You will have to put your
wetsuit in your BIKE bag
yourself.
²  When you leave the tent, drop off your
bag with the wetsuit inside at the
DROPOFF area.

Transition 2 Bike ◊ Run
²  Dismount your bike before entering the Park
²  Push your bike up to the volunteers waiting by
the empty racks. Bikes will be racked in order of
arrival.
²  Take your RUN bag and get changed in the tent.
²  Put you bike equipment in the Run bag and drop
off this bag as you leave the tent.
²  You're now ready for the 8km or 16km running
race.
What if your bag is not
there?
²  If your bag is not on the rack, this means you
were given a penalty during the BIKE race.
²  Go to the PENALTY BOX (located at the exit of
the Transition Area) and wait for the end of the
penalty period.
²  After the penalty - get changed and start the
Run!
16km run
²  4 laps, 1 energy station passed 3 times,
²  Take a band at the end of each lap (i.e. 3)
²  Swim + Bike + Run times: 7 hours race
time (3pm)
8km run
²  2 laps, 1 energy station passed once,
²  Swim + Bike + Run times: 4 hours race

Park.

General	
  rules	
  
It is forbidden to:
²  Cut or fold your race bib.
²  Get help from a third party.
²  Obtain supplies from anywhere outside
the official energy stations.
SWIM rules
²  You are recommended not to swim with
your race bib on.
²  The wetsuit must be dropped off at the
Transition Area.
²  It is forbidden to use any special
equipment.
BIKE rules
²  Drafting is forbidden.
²  The helmet must be worn at all
times, with the strap fastened properly.
²  The race bib must be worn and
clearly visible on the lower back.
²  You must comply with the highway code.
²  Stay on the right-hand side of the road. Do not cut
corners.
²  Escorts (car, motorbike, bicycle, etc.) are not
permitted.
No Drafting
²  The distance between two athletes (Drafting zone)
is 3m wide and 7m long, (front tyre to rear tyre)
²  If you enter this zone,
you will receive a black card.
²  You will have to do a penalty lap (for L)
or go to the penalty box on your return to the
Transition area (for M)
²  If you do not serve your penalty, you will be
disqualified!

²  You may not run with your torso
uncovered.
²  Escorts (bicycle, roller-skates,
runner, etc.) and assistance
are not permitted.
General rules
The referees' decision is final.
Otherwise:
Claims must be submitted to an official race
referee, in writing, before 5pm on the day of the
race and accompanied by a claim tax of €50.

  • 6. Before  you  arrive  in  Cannes   Don't  forget:     ² Everything  you  need  for  the  race   ² Proof  of  iden8ty   ² A  valid  licence  from  your  federa8on   ² or  a  medical  cer8ficate  issued  within  the  last  12   months  (to  obtain  a  single-­‐day  licence)

  • 10. ²  You will be able to buy extra tickets for the prize-giving cocktail party (€10). ²  Merchandising will be available in the Village. Options
  • 11. Check-­‐in   Saturday  1pm  –  6pm   Bike  Park  &  Transi8on  Area   Square  Verdun  
  • 12. Check-­‐in  informa?on   Saturday   ²  Check-in is mandatory for all athletes! ²  You must register your bike and your transition bags. They will not be accepted on the Race day. ²  Items not registered may not be used during the Race. ²  Check-in closes at 6pm!
  • 13. ²  Put the 3 stickers on your helmet (at the front and sides). ²  Put the sticker on the bike seat tube. ²  Put the 3 large stickers on the transition bags. Check-­‐in  prepara?on   Saturday  
  • 14. ²  Take your bike, Bike bag and Run bag. ²  Come to the entrance of the Bike Park. ²  Wear your helmet, with the strap fastened. ²  Gears and helmets will be checked. ²  Rack your bike (you can clip your shoes onto the bike but don't leave anything else with the bike!) ²  Take a chip as you leave. ²  Drop off the BIKE & RUN bags. ²  Do not bring the streetwear bag on Saturday. Check-in procedure Saturday

Check-in hours Saturday1pm – 7pm ²  Bike | Helmet | 2 Bike and Run transition bags ²  1pm to 2pm: Bib numbers 1 - 200 ²  2pm to 3pm: Bib numbers 201 - 400 ²  3pm to 4pm: Bib numbers 401 - 600 ²  4pm to 5pm: Bib numbers 601 - 800 ²  5pm to 6pm: Bib numbers 801 - 1000 ²  6pm to 7pm: Bib numbers 1001 - 1200 CHECK IN Sunday morning 7.15 – 7.45am: ²  Streetwear bag The Streetwear area above the beach on the promenade (next to the L'Ecrin restaurant)
  • 16. BIKE transition bag Saturday This contains everything you need for the BIKE race ²  Race bib + belt ²  Helmet ²  Glasses ²  Bike shoes (if not clipped on your bike) ²  Nutrition (first energy station at KM 23)
  • 17. RUN transition bag Saturday This  contains  everything  you  need  for  the  RUN   ²   Race  bib   ²   Cap   ²   Glasses   ²   Socks   ²   Shoes   ²   Gels  in  the  belt  
  • 18. NB:   You will not have access to your bags on the morning of the Race!
  • 19. Race  day   Sunday  13  April  2014   BEFORE  THE  RACE   DURING  THE  RACE   AYer  the  Finish  
  • 20. 6:30 – 7:30am Bike Park open ²  Enter the Bike Park ²  Check your tyres ²  Get ready ²  Toilets available in the Bike Park ²  You must leave the Bike Park by 7.30am ²  Do not leave anything on the floor in the Bike Park.
  • 21. Before the Start ²  Hand in your streetwear bag between 7.15 and 7.45 (remember to keep your swimming cap and goggles with you!) ²  Head for the Start area ²  Put on your swimming cap ²  Move into the Start area corresponding to your swimming ability (pros at the front on the first row) ²  Warm-up opposite the Exit, End: 7:45 ²  Shoes and sandals not permitted in the Start area
  • 22. 8am Swim L Start ²  Start of L race: 2km swim ²  2 1,000m laps ²  Times: 65 minutes (out of the water by 9:05)
  • 23. 11:00 Swim M Start ²  Start of M race: 1km swim ²  1 1,000m lap ²  Times: 45 minutes (out of the water by 11:45)

  • 25. Transition 1 Swim ◊ Bike ²  Take your BIKE bag ²  Get changed in the tent ²  You will have to put your wetsuit in your BIKE bag yourself. ²  When you leave the tent, drop off your bag with the wetsuit inside at the DROPOFF area.
  • 26. Transition 1 Swim ◊ Bike ²  Fasten the strap on your helmet ²  Take your bike ²  Push it up to the Park exit ²  Only get on to your Bike once you have left the Bike Park.
  • 27. BIKE 80km ²  1 lap, ²  1,630m difference in altitude, ²  2 energy stations ²  No personal supplies ²  Bike Service car ²  Times: 4 hours 35 mins race time (12.40)

  • 31. Danger! ²  The race takes place on the open road. ²  L and M will cross between 11.15 and 12.00 on Boulevard Gazagnaire as they come in and out. ²  Respect all the signs. ²  Danger going down the Col St Antoine pass (poor road surface).
  • 32. Boulevard  Gazagnaire:     ² A  5m  two-­‐way  lane  for  bikes,   ² A  2m  one-­‐way  lane  for  traffic.  
  • 33. Col  St  Antoine  –  Boulevard  des  Horizons:     ² Two-­‐way  traffic  on  poor  quality  road  surface.  
  • 34. BIKE Energy Station ²  Water (cans) ²  Energy drinks (cans) Overstims ²  Gels Overstims ²  Bananas
  • 36. ECOZONES ²  Only throw your cans and packaging away in the ECOZONES at the end of each energy station area. ²  If you don't comply, you will be disqualified.
  • 37. Transition 2 Bike ◊ Run ²  Dismount your bike before entering the Park ²  Push your bike up to the volunteers waiting by the empty racks. Bikes will be racked in order of arrival. ²  Take your RUN bag and get changed in the tent. ²  Put you bike equipment in the Run bag and drop off this bag as you leave the tent. ²  You're now ready for the 8km or 16km running race.
  • 38. What if your bag is not there? ²  If your bag is not on the rack, this means you were given a penalty during the BIKE race. ²  Go to the PENALTY BOX (located at the exit of the Transition Area) and wait for the end of the penalty period. ²  After the penalty - get changed and start the Run!
  • 39. 16km run ²  4 laps, 1 energy station passed 3 times, ²  Take a band at the end of each lap (i.e. 3) ²  Swim + Bike + Run times: 7 hours race time (3pm)
  • 40. 8km run ²  2 laps, 1 energy station passed once, ²  Swim + Bike + Run times: 4 hours race time (3pm)

Check-out procedure ²  You will need your race bib + athletes' bracelets for check-out. ²  Check your Bike arrival time at the entrance to the Transition Area. ²  Take your Transition bag first. ²  Then take your Bike (stored in order of arrival!) – N.B. the number marked on your bike will be checked. ²  Hand in the timing chip when you leave the Bike Park. ²  No chip = no bike!

  • 48. ²   The  doors  open  at  1.30pm   ²   Prize-­‐giving  will  take  place  in  the  Exhibi8on   Village.   ²   Entertainment,  DJ,  etc.     ²   Prize  for  the  Top  3  Pros,  Seniors  and  Veterans,   men  and  women   ²   Celebrate  your  success  with  your  family  and   friends  (you  are  invited  to  a  cocktail  party,  along   with  all  the  volunteers.  You  can  buy  addi8onal   passes  for  anyone  accompanying  you  from  the   Info  stand.)   Prize-­‐giving  &  Cocktail  Party  
  • 49. Rules  &  Regula?ons   FOR  A  FAIR,  SAFE  RACE  
  • 50. General  rules   It is forbidden to: ²  Cut or fold your race bib. ²  Get help from a third party. ²  Obtain supplies from anywhere outside the official energy stations.
  • 51. SWIM rules ²  You are recommended not to swim with your race bib on. ²  The wetsuit must be dropped off at the Transition Area. ²  It is forbidden to use any special equipment.
  • 52. BIKE rules ²  Drafting is forbidden. ²  The helmet must be worn at all times, with the strap fastened properly. ²  The race bib must be worn and clearly visible on the lower back. ²  You must comply with the highway code. ²  Stay on the right-hand side of the road. Do not cut corners. ²  Escorts (car, motorbike, bicycle, etc.) are not permitted.
  • 53. No Drafting ²  The distance between two athletes (Drafting zone) is 3m wide and 7m long, (front tyre to rear tyre) ²  If you enter this zone, you will receive a black card. ²  You will have to do a penalty lap (for L) or go to the penalty box on your return to the Transition area (for M) ²  If you do not serve your penalty, you will be disqualified!
  • 54. Penalties/Cards =  warning  (to  move  out  of  the  draYing   zone)     =  3  minutes  in  the  penalty  box  or  1  lap     =  6  minutes  in  the  penalty  box  or  2  laps     =  disqualifica8on                  =    
  • 55. RUN rules ²  Wear your race bib clearly on your front. ²  You may not run with your torso uncovered. ²  Escorts (bicycle, roller-skates, runner, etc.) and assistance are not permitted.
  • 56. General rules The referees' decision is final. Otherwise: Claims must be submitted to an official race referee, in writing, before 5pm on the day of the race and accompanied by a claim tax of €50.
