1. Executive summary - summarizes the business plan.
This is the “abstract” of your project- 3 paragraphs
Company/Product description - describes the company and product in great detail,
but does not need to be technical.
(1 paragraph)
Market Analysis - Who is your customer? What is the population of your customer?
Are there certain market conditions necessary for your product to succeed? Is it
cyclical? (In other words, do you need snow in order for your product to be in
demand?)
(1 paragraph)
Competitive Analysis -Who is your competition? How will you compete with
them? What is your product's advantage?
Marketing and Sales Plan - How will you market your product? How will it be
sold? Via stores, internet?
(The 2 components should be one paragraph)
Management and Operations - How many people do you need to start the company?
Do you need outside vendors to sell you materials? Do you need a manufacturing
plant?
Financial Plan - Here you first need to determine the cost for starting the company.
This includes the costs for marketing, paying salaries, cost for materials or
manufacturing plants, office building rent and overhead costs as telephone and
utilities and any other expenses you can think of. Once you determine the expenses,
you need to determine the best price for your product. The price in which you
would be most profitable. What are people willing to pay for your product? Then
determine when will you begin to make a profit and how much of a profit.
Management, operations and summary of financial plan- 1 paragraph
(charts, graphs, include actual numbers- MATH)
Growth Plan -Where do you want your company to be in 5, 10, 20 years? Any plans
for expansion?
