Ever wondered what it would be like to fulfill something like to get a perfect grade point average, or even kick the winning goal. Yes those are all
perfect goals to succeed at, but mines a bit different. I want to do something different, like lets say something that no one really has the energy to
do. Acting, in late 2014 I signed up for a class that will help me learn many things, like modeling too. You're probably thinking modeling isn't really
the best for acting. Though modeling has helped with confidence. I want to become a actress in the future, to be well known with people. Acting is
like a passion I want to succeed at and hopefully be the best in the best. Probably around 10 years by now you'll see me starring in movies or doing

Most people would normally put this down as their Long Term Goal, but as for me It's not really going to matter much after you got everything
settled. Why? because you're never going to go back to it. For my Medium Term Goal is something most people would put down, getting a good

Pursuing A Successful Acting Career
I always wanted to become a actor but i didn't know what skills to practice so i could become better. 45% of actors who fail are actors who don't
know the proper skills to become better actors (25 Skills). If actors know the skills they will usually become better actors. To be successful actors

My Experience : My Passion For Acting As My Life
I live in the most loved area, Palm Springs. Where the sun is always shining. I lived in California all my life. The heat blazing on your skin, the

One time before class, I threw my back out and rotating my neck left and my left arm was continuously met with severe resistance. Once I stepped
into class and began slowly working the three layer technique, it slowly allowed for my muscles to loosen up, removing the tension in my back.I dealt

Human emotions have always been a complex concept. Acting attempts to break these feelings down into staggered breathing or tingling hands or

Graduating from the Acting program courses is bittersweet and as it draws to a close there are a few things I want to reflect on regarding Acting in
general as well as people who have made this experience worth every minute. This semester was a major growth spurt in terms of Acting, and I've
worked to improve my confidence level and volume especially while working in "The Audition". However, I still have some trouble really dropping
myself into a moment or character without getting somewhat distracted or out of focus. I think in the long run this will get easier the more experience
I have, and it mostly just requires more practice. I aim to keep in mind that an actor's work is never done, and just like a person of any other
profession, there's always room for improvement. The production process for "The Audition" was unlike any other show I've been a part of. The
scenes were rehearsed and broken up into sections that were often blocked out of order, and other elements of the show like the dancing and singing,
also started out as separate entities from the rest of the show. This came with multiple challenges, but many of them worked themselves out in the end.
The dance and choreography was especially exciting for me, because it is something I enjoy and have a talent for. That being said, there were still
challenges that came along with it. I had to learn how to teach dance to people who have never set foot inside a dance studio which is no easy task.

Surface acting is hiding one's feelings and trying to display another. Deep acting is trying to modify how one is feeling in order to adjust to the
workplace. Both surface and deep acting are difficult to do especially if you are feeling a particular way. As a receptionist, it is my job to always
have a positive attitude when answering the phone calls and greeting customers and visitors. When I am not in a great mood and worried about
something else going on in my life, this causes emotional dissonance and causes me to feel fatigued and stressed out. Depending on certain jobs,
people need to be able to separate their emotions from what is actually occurring. For example, if an oncologist is losing a patient, they have to have
the ability and not show remorse for that patient. If a doctor is seen in front of a patient crying or upset, it is seen as unprofessional and can actually

Now that you've made your choices, how do you generate these emotions and make them readable to the audience? And in doing so, does the actor
actually feel the emotions or simulate them? These are the questions often asked about portraying the emotion.
It stands to reason if you want to affect the audience and move them, you, playing a credible character, must feel these emotions. But you must feel
them in such a way that they are conveyed to the audience. The degree to which you feel each emotion will depend upon the method used to carry out
this feat and your ability to master it.
Actors involved in what is termed "Method Acting" use the affective memory to generate emotions. Here the actor recalls a specific event in his own
life that has produced the required feeling. For example, remembering a fight you had with another student in high school could arouse the emotion of
anger. Recalling the death of a close relative might generate the emotion of grief. The actor has to go back, replay the experience leading to the desired
emotion, and relive those moments in his mind. Through this method, the required emotion is revived.

As a person who considers themselves creative and fun, being an actor seems quite interesting. My job title would be actor/performer. Actors express
various ideas and portray many characters from very different backgrounds, and they try to interpret the writer's script in a way that entertains or
informs the audience ("Summary"). I chose acting as my career because as a kid I always thought acting was interesting and enjoyable. I tend to be a
very verbose person at times so it is the perfect career for me. It is important, however, to understand the education or training requirements, skills or
talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision. The job is like a gypsy. You don't stay in
one place. The work environment could range anywhere from parks, to theaters, and to various studios ("Summary"). Actors also don't have set work

Acting exists as a subjective art form where one can always find something to improve on in their abilities. This is why I found myself so excited,
and remain so, to participate in this class and cultivate my craft. In the first half of the semester, this class has irrefutably provided me with the tools to
examine how I function as an actor and how to improve my craft. I believe it has cultivated my ability to improve in several areas, mainly
imagination and relaxation, while also revealing a major area I need to continue to work on, concentration. In regards to imagination, I have been
pleasantly surprised in my improvement in this area. In the past, I've found myself just performing as a character and keeping it at the superficial
level, not allowing myself to imagine their circumstances. Yet, I allowed myself to empathize with the circumstances and feel the characters emotions,
just not fully embrace the imagination part of it during performances. However, through this class, I've found imagining myself in those circumstances
to be a much more natural way to portray a character on stage. As a result, I continually find it easier and easier to imagine myself in different

I. THE PROBLEM
The art of the stage actor is the most subjective, abstract process of all the arts. Musicians, painters, and dancers all have to develop a technique that is
rooted in aesthetic tradition and proven by the masters of their fields. Historically, the techniques of great actors have not been expressed in written
form, and their performances lost after the moment of their occurrence. There is, of course, a reason for this lack of information. Actors are dealing
with the most elusive and transient medium possible– human emotions. The idea that one should have something as organized as a "technique" or

The A– effect: The alienation effect produced by a certain acting technique designed by Bertolt Brecht. Brecht wanted to distance both the audience and

Acting technique: The process by which an actor trains his various abilities– physical, emotional, and intellectual awareness to be combined in
performance.
Affective Memory: A controversial technique developed by Stanislavski and emphasized by Strasberg . Actors were to use their own personal past
experiences to stimulate certain emotions during performance. Many actors have refused to use this claiming that it takes them out of the
circumstances of the actual play.
Atmosphere: The realm of feelings , or "heart– beat", that encompasses a performance. It is the "mood" that surrounds the actors, without being created
by any particular actor. Michael Chekhov uses this concept as a major component of his acting philosophy.
