Responsible for on-time completion of construction and service projects for five Forward Operating Bases (FOB’s)
during the course of Operation Enduring Freedom. Planned, reviewed, and executed projects in western
Afghanistan. Had overall responsibility to meet all timelines of the project. Coordinated with military command,
local civilian contractors, and suppliers to assure that we kept on schedule while being mindful of security
concerns. Contended with the challenges of ordering and procuring materials and equipment, with lead times as
long as six months. Dealt with details of projects, ranging from arranging living quarter (tents) for as many as 1000
personnel, to repairing and refurbishing wells, to establishing operational fire departments. Managed the expansion
of some bases while closing others.
