 Maintain the custody and security of inmates under the jurisdiction of
four local counties.
 Respond to emergency situations as needed to include mass

 Completed the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy to

ensure no contraband or weapons enter the facility.

 Interview new booking inmates for signs of any potential mental
health or medical problems.
 Review files and release orders for Inmates prior to release to ensure
all paperwork is accurate and correct.
 August 26, 2014, promoted to Officer 1st
Class in the Intake/ Release
department.
 July 22, 2015, promoted to Lead Intake Officer in the Intake
Processing Department.
 Responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Intake
Processing Department and reporting directly to the shift corporal.
 Checking booking files to insure that the information entered and
documented is accurate and fixing any discrepancies if necessary.
 Releasing Inmates in accordance with state law due to receiving court
ordered releases, completed sentences, bond releases, or transfers to
other mental health and/ or correctional facilities.
 Verifying all inmates eligible for release are not wanted in other
jurisdictions through conducting NCIC/ VCIN searches.
 Working closely with pre-trial officers, probation and parole, electronic
monitoring, mental health, and SCRAM departments to insure all release
stipulations are met prior to releasing inmates back into the community.
2007-2010 Maryland Division of Corrections Jessup, MD

Correctional Institute for Women.

 Preformed two years as a road crew officer maintaining security and

 Conducted drop off and pick ups of Inmates on work release within
the community.
 Conducted regular random cell searches and frisk searches of
Inmates and their property in an effort to detect and confiscate any and all
contraband.
 Scored very well on the Sergeants exam and was eligible for
promotion before deciding to pursue other correctional and career related
opportunities.
