Develop US-based engineering staff for product scale up at global facilities
▪ Provide training in the following areas of emulsion polymerization, heat transfer and process
control to increase the success rate of scale up to production facilities
▪ Develop engineering models to predict how scale up experiments will perform in production
polymerization reactors.
Drive transfer of latex products from US to China Plant Operations to supply global customers
expanding into Asia markets. (~25 MMLbs annually)
▪ Direct product qualification process for recipes using local Chinese raw materials. Process
included evaluation of raw materials (surfactants and biocides) to meet approvals such as
REACH if products were slated for export to EU.
▪ Develop quality and recipe protocol for China production equipment.
▪ Direct on-site scale up and troubleshooting of Asian products with local engineering staff.
▪ Qualified two critical products for Non-wovens Division for P&G in China Production facility

Pilot Plant Manager, 2009 – 2011
Oversaw the daily operations of the Mogadore Pilot Plant to achieve goals of the three OMNOVA
business units, Paper, Carpet and Specialty Chemicals. Projects were focused on either new product
development or improving product performance through chemistry and engineering solutions. These
new solutions were transferred to Omnova’s global manufacturing or tolling sites
Directed Commercialization of Hollow Plastic Pigment (HPP) ~50 MMlbs Annually
▪ Coordinated the parallel path development of the core and shell technology critical to pro-
duction process at two different Omnova facilities.

funding under a $4MM grant under NIST over 3 three years meeting specific technical milestones to
comply with the NIST grant
