The Focus assessment shows me the career areas I might be able to pursue. My top five
career choices from the Focus assessment are construction manager, athlete’s business manager,
benefits manager, business professor, and casino manager. In the first career choice, a
construction manager is someone who manages the construction of a building on a work site, and
also they work in management and administration of a construction firm. Secondly, an athlete’s
business manager is someone who works in business administration and management, marketing

and kinesiology and exercise sciences, these responsibilities are what an athlete’s business
manager is responsible for. Furthermore, a benefits manager is someone who works in liberal
arts and sciences, business administration, accounting, and financial planning, all these aspects
are what is required for a benefits manager to be successful. The next career choice, a business
professor is someone who works in curriculum and instruction, economics, business and
commerce, business administration, and management, all aspects that are required in order to
teach business. My final career choice is a casino manager, the manager works in business
management and business administration, to manage the operations of a prosperous business.
My top five career choices that the Focus assessment will help to guide me to figure out my
career and future goals.
A top career choice is a career that requires skill and interest from the individual. In my
case, my career and future plans are to become entrepreneur with my future goals of creating and
operating my own business. The top five career choices out of the many that the Focus
Assessment matched me with were the ones that related to management and business
administrations. Even though, the other careers were similar to my career goal, these were not a
good fit to me because of personal interest; however, the management and business
administration were the best match that I could make a connection with for my future career
goal. I selected the top five career choices because they are related to my career plan and future
goals of having my own business. Furthermore, two of my top career choices, a casino manager
and athlete’s business manager, are the career choices I closely identified with in terms of what
the job descriptions entailed, which is business management and business administration of their
job duties.

My areas of concentration are Landscape Studies, Agricultural Sciences, and General
Business. These three areas of concentration relate to my top five career choices in regard to
General Business, as this is the field of study I will use in my future plans. My other two areas of
concentration, Landscape studies and Agricultural Sciences no longer fit into my career and
future plans because my career plans have changed. In addition, General Business will provide
me with the knowledge and leadership skills that are required to be a business owner or a
business administrator. The connection that I can construct from the conclusion of the Focus
Assessment is that my General Business focus and the top five career choices from the
assessment, is that I am best suited for a position in management or administration in an
organization or business. Further, the assessment has placed me in six categories of work
interest. These categories are, enterprising, realistic, artistic, conventional, investigative, and
social. My top three interests are enterprising, a category that people are in because they prefer
activities selling and promoting products. Also, they enjoy influencing others and being in a
leadership position. The second field is realistic. The realistic category is people who often prefer
to work with objects, and they are likely to enjoy creating things with their hands, tools, and
machines. Some people prefer large, powerful machines while others prefer precision machinery
such as an X-ray machine or electronic equipment. People in this category generally enjoy being
physically active, repairing equipment, rebuilding cars, fixing electrical equipment, solving
mechanical problems, playing sports, working outdoors, and using their hands. Lastly, artistic
people in this category prefer to be expressive. They like opportunity to create new things and be
innovative. They typically like structure or conformity. They prefer to use their imagination to be
creative. People in this category generally enjoy activities such as writing, poetry, photography,
and designing.

interests and future skills that will help me with my future goals and my career choice. The
