2. OVERVIEW
➤ Mineral Springs® is the luxury salt care system for salt pool owners. This system is ideal for
the salt pool owner looking for that extra “oomph” from their salt system.
➤ The system is also ideal for pool owners who take frequent vacations; the system provides
greater flexibility with chemical additions compared to most other care systems.
➤ Mineral Springs® contains only one weekly maintenance item: Mineral Springs®
Renewal®.
➤ While pool owners could simply use the SaltScapes™ products and not “upgrade” to Mineral
Springs®, the difference is like driving a Lexus compared to an Audi. Softer, gentler, clearer
water is the goal of Mineral Springs®.
➤ Mineral Springs® contains two main products:
➤ Mineral Springs® Beginnings®
➤ Mineral Springs® Renewal®
➤ Supplementary products for Mineral Springs®:
➤ Mineral Springs® Stain & Scale (also used to upgrade to Mineral Springs® from regular
salt)

3. MINERAL SPRINGS® BEGINNINGS®
➤ Mineral Springs® Beginnings® is the
multi-functional first step to the
Mineral Springs® program:
➤ Establishes needed salt level for
salt cell
➤ Prevents scale formation
➤ Softens water, making it silky to
the touch
➤ Beginnings® contains SunShield®:
➤ Slows the breakdown of chlorine
due to sunlight
➤ Initial dose is 1 bag (27.9lbs) per
1,000gal of water to establish levels,
with additional bags added as needed

4. MINERAL SPRINGS® RENEWAL®
➤ Mineral Springs® Renewal® is an all-in-
one maintenance item:
➤ Replenishes mineral level
➤ Softens water
➤ Prevents scale formation
➤ Protects equipment from corrosion
➤ Clarifies water with a built-in
clarifier
➤ Reduces pH, which naturally rises in
salt pools
➤ Apply Mineral Springs® Renewal® at the
rate of 1 bag (4lbs) per 20,000gal weekly
➤ For vacation use, apply 1 bag (4lbs) per
20,000gal for each week of vacation the
pool will be left unattended

5. MINERAL SPRINGS® STAIN & SCALE
➤ Mineral Springs® Stain & Scale
is a scale prevention product
designed to target the most
likely location of scale buildup
in salt pools: within the salt
cell itself.
➤ Mineral Springs® Stain &
Scale is one of two products
used to convert an existing
salt pool to Mineral
Springs®.
➤ Apply at a rate of 1 quart per
5,000gal once a year, preferably
at start-up in the spring

6. CONVERTING FROM SALT TO MINERAL SPRINGS®
➤ Converting from traditional salt to Mineral Springs® is relatively easy and requires
two primary products: Mineral Springs® Stain & Scale and Optimizer® Plus.
➤ Apply Mineral Springs® Stain & Scale at a rate of 1qt per 5,000gal of water.
Circulate for 24 hours.
➤ Apply Optimizer® Plus at a rate of 2lb per 1,000gal:
➤ Split the recommended dose into thirds. Apply Optimizer® Plus and
circulate for 1 hour.
➤ Apply 1lb of SaltScapes™ pH Reducer for each 2lb of Optimizer® Plus
added. Circulate for at least 8 hours.
➤ Once the conversion process is complete, begin adding Mineral Springs® Renewal®
at a rate of 1 bag (4lb) per 20,000gal weekly.
➤ If the salt level is low, Mineral Springs® Beginnings® can be used to raise the salt
level before converting; however, testing Optimizer® Plus levels should be done
before beginning the conversion process.

7. ADDITIONAL STEPS
➤ Weekly testing of chlorine and pH should be conducted at
home; when chlorine is low, increase the cell output and apply
a granular chlorine (Super Soluble™) to increase chlorine
levels.
➤ As Mineral Springs® Renewal® contains both a clarifier and a
pH reducer, additional products may not be necessary. The
system also does not require the use of a weekly maintenance
algicide.
➤ Mineral levels should be checked monthly (this is part of a
routine water test in-store) and topped off when low using
Mineral Springs® Beginnings®.
