2. What is [in]stant?
Mission: Instantly connect talent and opportunity
Vision: Create economic opportunity by lowering the
friction in the recruiting process.
[in]stant is a recruiter to member instant messaging system. It will allow
recruiters to instantly communicate with active/passive candidates over IM
(desktop) or text. The recruiter cannot see if a member is online at a given
time but if the candidate accepts the recruiters InMail, the two can initiate
an IM/text with one another or schedule a time to connect.
3. Current Limitations & Value Proposition:
Recruiters: Difficult to initiate and engage in initial discussion with
passive candidates through InMail alone. Lack of effective tools to
drive coordination and scheduling efforts. With [in]stant: Engage more
candidates in less time. Efficiently schedule and prioritize candidate
screening
Passive Candidates: Oftentimes handling a phone call about a job
opportunity during the workday is inconvenient. With [in]stant: Lower
overall commitment to initially qualify opportunities. Conveniently
engage with recruiters over desktop or text.
Active Candidates: Lower visibility with recruiters; difficulty taking a
proactive approach in a job search. With [in]stant: Recruiters will be
able to screen more active candidates; college aged candidates will
be able to engage with recruiters over preferred modes of
communication.
4. Key Features:
- Built off current InMail system, can only
be initiated by users of ‘LinkedIn
Recruiter’
- More convenient, seamless and
efficient preliminary conversations
between recruiters and candidates (pre-
qualifying, scheduling, etc.)
- Gives active job seekers (“Apply with
LinkedIn”, “Check[in]”, etc.) more
visibility with recruiters.
- Allows for preliminary candidate
screens to be handled over mobile.
Smooth transition from text to phone
call.
- Improved scheduling and coordination.
