To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to recommend Brandon Rodriguez. I have known Brandon for more than a
year, during which time he has shown incredible leadership and the ability to be a self-
starter as a student in my Reading 009 and English 121/122 classes.
Brandon has been a model student in each of my courses, always offering thoughtful
analysis and ideas during our daily journal exercises or during in-class discussion. When
asked to participate in group work, Brandon often takes the lead within his group,
ensuring the groups stays on task with the assignment, where others would be more
content to use the time to socialize.
When Brandon injured his ankle early in the Spring 2014 semester, I allowed him to
remain in my class even though he could not attend regularly. I did so because I trusted
that Brandon would be able to handle working on his own and was enough of a self-
starter to complete the assignments required without the constant oversight other students
in the class would require. Brandon proved me right, and was never shy about asking
important questions when necessary, while getting his work completed on time and to a
high standard. Brandon earned an A- for that class, and has never earned grade lower
than that in any of my classes that he has taken.
It is with great pride that I recommend Brandon. If you have any questions, or wish to
discuss his qualifications further, please do not hesitate to contact me at 732-715-2222 or
via e-mail at joshuajamesburnett@gmail.com.
