3. What is Scam Hybridization?
Scam Hybridization is the combination of multiple
scams to create a greater appeal or emotional pull
in a potential victim.
Example – scammer combines a sweetheart scam with a
charity scam to convince their internet fiancée to
send them prepaid cards or money orders to help
build an orphanage in a distant land. The scammee
is now more enmeshed with their new love, being
convinced that they are caring for the orphans.

4. How Do Scammers ‘Level Up’ Through Scam
Hybridization?
Few people realize that scammers can level up like a
video game using scam hybridization. Leveling up
occurs when their scam XP (experience points) hits a
certain threshold.
This allows them to become even more devious in
nature, targeting new victims with more complicated
scams.
Let’s take a look at a few of the levels.
