7. Lake Norman Regional Transportation Commission
• R – 2307 A&B – Widening of NC 150 from NC 16 (Lincoln/ Catawba Co Line to
just west of UD 21 in Iredell.
• A Section is from Lincoln Co line to Harvel Rd (SR 1902) in Catawba and B
Section is from Harvel Rd (SR 1902) to just west of US 21 in Mooresville.
• B Section - ROW for B section is in FY 2017 and Construction is in FY
2019. ROW Cost $13.6 million and Construction is $90.5 million. EA for both A
& B signed in early April. Final design work is underway.
• A section – ROW is in FY 25 estimated at $30.6 million and Construction is
estimated at $90 million.

8. Lake Norman Regional Transportation Commission
 I-5717 – Reconfigure the NC150 and I-77 Interchange. Being implemented with
R-2307 B Section – NC 150 Widening – Construction Scheduled for FY 2019.
 B5142 – Replace Bridge on Cornelius Rd. Work to begin soon by Blythe
development.
 B-4766 - New Bridge Replacement Project on NC 115 over Rocky Creek North of
Statesville. Detour in place. Approximately 20% complete.
 I-3819A – I-40 & I-77 Interchange. The diverging diamond interchange at US 21
is open to traffic. Project completion is expected by late summer.

9. Lake Norman Regional Transportation Commission
• I-3819 B – I-40 & I-77 Interchange. Scheduled 2018 ROW & Construction as a
Design Build.
• I-4908 – I-77 Rest Area. Work is well underway (over 50%). Building framing
has been completed.
• FS 1512B – Cornelius Rd Interchange. Feasibility study is complete. Selection of
a preferred alternative is expected by March. Project involves relocating the
northern portion of Bluefield Rd to the west to take it away from the proposed
interchange.
• R-5711 – Houston Rd and Flower House Loop. Consultant is on board; starting
on planning document.

10. Lake Norman Regional Transportation Commission
• R-3833 – Brawley School Rd Functional Design. Talbert Rd to US 21. Stantec
engineering has been hired. Working on a functional design.
• R-5100 – Williamson Rd Widening from NC 150 to I-77. Project has been split
into A & B sections.
• A Section – From NC 150 to Brawley School Rd will be done first. Notice to
Proceed has not been issued. Hiring of a consultant is underway.
• B Section from Brawley School Rd to I-77 Needs more permits (FERC) and will
take more time. NCDOT-PDEA to do the work.

11. Lake Norman Regional Transportation Commission
• U-5799 - US 21 Widening from Fort Dobbs Rd to Jane Sowers Rd and Realign
Intersection of Jane Sowers and Shumaker Dr. Not started yet.
• U-5779 – Statesville - NC 115 from SR 1645 (Old Wilkesboro Rd) to Hartness Rd
Widen 0.9 miles roadway. Consultant has been hired.
• U-5780 – Mooresville – Intersection of NC 150 and SR 2399 (Wiggins Rd) Realign
Intersection & Signalize. Consultant has been hired.
• U-5817 – Extend SR 1246 Fairview Rd over I-77 to Connect with SR 1206 Alcove
Rd. Stuart Engineering, planning study in progress.

12. Lake Norman Regional Transportation Commission
• SR 1305 (Oates Rd – Midnight Ln) US 21 (Charlotte Hwy) to SR 1474 Bluefield
Rd. Widen to three lane with overpass over I-77. Raleigh Managed project.
Stantec has started the planning work.

The following slides represent the DRAFT project selection for the 2018 State
Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for the CRTPO. NCDOT released the
DRAFT STIP on January 4, 2017.
The projects are selected in 3 Tiers:
Statewide Mobility – 100% Data Driven
Regional Impact – 70% Data Driven, 30% MPO/NCDOT Division
Division Needs – 50% Data Driven, 50% MPO/NCDOT Division
