10. What does this mean for the Lake
Norman Region?
 This is the opportunity to make the region’s
transportation needs known.
 Projects in high-growth areas tend to score well
in the MTP roadway ranking criteria as well as in
NCDOT’s funding formula
 Previous MTP has resulted in over $500 million of
funded roadway projects through 2027 in
Northern Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties.

11. Significant Roadway Projects
 NC 150 Improvements from US 21 to Catawba
County
 NC 73 expansion from Denver to Concord
 Completion of the I-40/I-77 Interchange
 Construction of two new overpasses over I-77 in
Iredell County
 I-77 & Cornelius Road Interchange in Mooresville
 Widening of US 21 from Gilead Road to
Westmoreland Road
 I-77 interchange reconstruction to improve
mobility at Exits 23,25,28,30, and 36.

 Separated bicycle/pedestrian path over Lake
Norman as part of the NC 150 project.
 Torrance Creek Greenway I-77 Underpass in
Huntersville
 Mooresville Middle School area sidewalk network

 Richardson Greenway Extension in Troutman
