Marina got into the hospitality industry as she absolutely adores travelling,
discovering new places and living new experiences. She was always charmed by the
ambiance of a hotel, especially those that give a home away from home feeling.
Marina had a huge desire to work in a multinational company with people from all
over the world which gives a unique feeling of inspiration and connection to the
whole world and brings different views together and creates more value and impact.
Every day is different in the industry, which keeps the motivation going.
The hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia is dynamic, competitive and very encouraging
with more exciting hotel openings in the pipeline over the coming years. The
government is truly supporting development of unique projects which make Saudi
Arabia a great tourism and traveling destination.
Marina being Marriott’s first female GM in Saudi Arabia proudly comments “I
appreciate it also a huge responsibility and I hope to an inspirational leader for
future female hoteliers. I have been approached by a lot of ladies who shared their
support and were delighted to see the announcement of Marriott International’s first
female GM in Saudi Arabia. These are exciting times for the Kingdom, and I am happy
to be a part of it”.

Every day Marina discovers more about how captivating Saudi Arabia is,
its reach heritage and traditions. The Kingdom has been going through a
significant social transformation in accordance to Vision 2030 reform
where it has so much to offer which is truly inspiring. On a daily basis
she meets genuine, authentic people and feels great support from
Marriott, ownership of the hotel and colleagues.
Marina had a huge pleasure to attend the Graduation ceremony of
Tahseen program, which was launched by Marriott International in
2017, in partnership with Cornell University. The program has set the
way for Saudi talents into hotel leadership positions in the Kingdom. At
Graduation event, she had a chance to participate at networking
session with more than 30 female Tahseen graduates and alumni to
share in her journey. She is highly committed in developing more
opportunities for local talents and diverse leadership in the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia and while confirming that The St. Regis Riyadh will reflect
and embrace the company’s vision, which she strongly believes in.
Marina plans to have a remarkable opening for The St. Regis Riyadh and
to deliver an uncompromising level of bespoke service and exquisite
experience in the city’s best address.

MISS EGYPT
Mariam Eldamasy, 21 years old – currently studying Business
Administration with a major in Marketing at Cairo University.
Since Childhood, Mariam’s dream was to join the Miss Egypt
competitions. Regardless all challenges faced, once she got
the opportunity, she joined without any hesitations.
Mariam developed many skills, while being involved in
various activities and classes in etiquette, cat walk, fitness,
and charitable work. She primarily enjoys the exposure of
Miss Egypt competitions; to be cultured, to support others,
and to create a positive impact in society.
Mariam truly believes “Success is not the key to happiness is
the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will
be successful”.

Sheraton Cairo’s Women Council held an event during the month of
March under the name of “She Believed She Could, So She Did” in
which a group of females from different disciplines attended.
The main purpose of this event is to celebrate “The International
Women’s Day”, and taking the chance to thank Sheraton Cairo’s
women for their efforts and their achievements as well.
The event started with a warm greeting from The Hotel Manager,
Chairwoman for Marriott Egypt Women Council, Head of Women
Council at Sheraton Cairo and Assistant Director of HR. Then they
honored the women with certificates as a gratitude for their
continuous efforts followed by fun activities.
