Two years ago we examined the top destinations for the flights from Lambert St. louis International Airport (STL). After two years, not much has changed; Chicago’s O’Hare (ORD) and Atlanta’s Hartsfield (ATL) remain at the top. Both airports serve as hubs for some St. Louis’ major carriers.

• Two years ago we examined the top destinations for the flights from Lambert St. louis International
Airport (STL). After two years, not much has changed; Chicago’s O’Hare (ORD) and Atlanta’s
Hartsfield (ATL) remain at the top. Both airports serve as hubs for some St. Louis’ major carriers.
• Southwest has continued to increase its presence at STL. The carrier handled 50.8 percent of the
passenger traffic in the 12 months examined, up from 48.5 percent two years ago.
• St. Louis passenger volume decreased since peaking in the early 2000’s following the merger of TWA
(which had STL as a hub) with American. St. Louis outward bound passengers have become more
reliant on connecting flights through major hubs to reach their final destination.
