Christmas Goodies may kill your dog.
Who can resist the temptation of a Christmas table fully loaded with roasted Duck and
Pork, Gingerbread, - marzipan - and chocolate? Dogs can’t, the exotic and sweet
temptations simply put them on overdrive. When cooking for the December events, it is
easy to share “goodies” with your dog. But make no mistake, “goodies” ending up in a
dogs stomach is life threatening to man s best friend. During December also dogs are

eating something else than usual. But the heavy stuff is more than a dog stomach can
handle. Besides being loaded with calories, dogs are ending up with diarrhea and
vomiting.
Chocolate, chocolate is actually the biggest culprit and something one should avoid giving to your dog, at least
if you wish to keep it. Chocolate is highly toxic and feed to dogs may turn
fatal. If a medium size dog eats 3-400 grams (11—14oz) of chocolate, the
situation may quickly turn critical, often resulting in severe heart
irregularities or even death.
Gift Paper and tape are life-threatening, too
The warnings do not stop with the food. The fat Christmas meals are dangerous, so is gift paper and tape. These
items should be out of reach of Pet. If not, it will eventually end up in the stomach and can only be removed by
surgery. According to veterinarians, at this time of the year is when most submit their pets with gastrointestinal
problems. Therefore the best advice is to feed your Pet as usually and keep it away from gift paper and tape.
Pets are most happy with life when things are as they use to be.
Your guests may serve goodies to the dog without you being aware, which may trig a diarrhea or vomit. To help
the stomach to re-adjust, a good idea is to add fermented beneficial lactic-acid
bacteria to the drinking water. The most common known are lactobacillus
acidophilus and bifida bacteria. Another possible source is Pet-Biosa, with excellent
ecological qualities.
