Persuasive Essay On Alcohol
1. Persuasive Essay On Alcohol
It is very scary that a known fatal substance is so readily available in today's society. A lot of people like to relax with a drink of alcohol; however, it
can cause many serious problems for others who start to become dependent on it.
Alcohol is a very addictive substance and therefore can start to play a larger role in people's lives. Alcohol is used in many different environments,
from intense ranging parties, concerts, festivals, small family getâtogethers and even drinking on your own to have a relaxing night after work. Many
see no issues in having a casual beer here and there, although when we look at some of the stats we can clearly see that alcohol is causing some
major issues in our society. Research estimates a whopping 86 percent of Americans will drink at some point in their lives and 70 percent drink at least
once per year. This shows that alcohol is present in many Americans lives, and thus from that starting point anaddiction can spawn. It only takes one
time for someone to gain an addiction to a substance. Therefore, as it is a legal drug it's very hard to recognize if someone has an addiction problem.
So, why is it important that we stay on the look out for a loved one or friend who may be suffering from alcoholism?
How bad can it really be?
There are many serious consequences that come with drinking alcohol. We only have one life and one body, therefore taking care of it is very
important. When people say treat your body like a temple, binge drinking

2. Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will
be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the
prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give
examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell
the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of
anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always
thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly
dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times,
my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm.
Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old
question: "Do you like

3. Persuasive Essay On Veganism
Over fiftyâsix billion animals are slaughtered yearly for consumption, but because we are conditioned from a young age to view animals as resources,
we neglect that they are passionate and intelligent living beings. Cows want to enjoy their lives, pigs want to enjoy their lives, and many other farm
animals want to enjoy their lives but instead are abused and confined in small cages. Ironically, though, when someone does likewise to a cat or dog,
they're prosecuted. The sole solution to these inhumane acts is Veganism. Veganism is the ideal diet because plant
âbased foods are plentiful, and it
recognizes the unethical treatment of animals.
I have adopted veganism into my lifestyle because I don't support the ethics behind the meat, dairy, and egg industries. Whilst already vegetarian for a
year, I unintentionally came across a video about veganism that introduced new and persuasive facts that I had no prior knowledge about; I knew
immediately that this lifestyle was for me. Unlike vegetarianism, veganism is a lifestyle and what that means is no leather, no feathers, no products that
have been tested on animals, no products including animal ingredients, etc.. Those wanting to become vegan should take it slow because then they can
discover new recipes and replacements, and it doesn't seem so overwhelming. The main thing to focus on is trying your best.

4. Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence
ONE STEP TOWARDS JUSTICE:
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Right now, right at this very instant, a silent war all across the nation is being waged. A violation of humanity, a crime that is least prosecuted, and a
great threat endangering the lives of thousands of women and children daily. Of course, I am talking about harsh reality of domestic violence. We live in
a time where domestic violence is kept a taboo subject, a shameful secret that shouldn't be let out. We know it's happening, and even hear or see the
events. But who's taking action?
I can stand here and give you a list of statistics about this issue, but is that all it is? A statistic? Sadly enough, people look at this endless crime as just
a figure or percentage, we're shocked at first but nothing more. So today, I am taking the first step, a step towards justice, a step to end the struggle,
and a step to save our nation.
And yes, I'm not anyone special, I don't study the topic, nor am I a survivor of domestic violence myself. But I'm here to tell a story. I'm here to make
a change. And I'm here to encourage all of you to do the same.
I'm going to share an experience I had. Something that I've regretted and hated myself for since, knowing that help could've been sought earlier. A
few years back, I was catching up with a family member and noticed a faint bruise on her face. Naturally, I asked her what had happened but she just
brushed it off, told me it was nothing but a sport injury. Weeks progressed, and the bruises became worse and worse, but I stop questioning. To me, she
still seemed the happy goâlucky girl I knew and loved, the only difference were these markings. But let me tell you, sometimes the people who seem
happiest, are actually hurting the most. And this was exactly the case. Flashforward a few months, and her partner was being trialled and charged under
the case of domestic abuse.
Although there were so many signs, my ignorance restrained me from helping her help herself. Needless to say, I was absolutely disgusted. And to this
day, I still can't even begin the fathom how anyone could possibly put their hands on someone they loved. To purposely harm their significant other and
act like everything is fine. And to the victims who have to live

5. Persuasive Speech : Why Should College Be Free?
Specific purpose: At the end of the speech, students will be persuaded that college should be free. Central idea: Three reasons why college should be
free: First, tuition and debt leads to attempted suicides. Second, the student and their family are affected by higher tuition cost. Third, high tuition
fees diminish the amount of qualified job seekers in the career market. Introduction: 5 a.m. The alarm clock rings, on a normal day you would dread
waking up so early. But today, is not your normal average day. Monday, August 21st, 2017, is the beginning of your first day of a new journey of
college as a freshman; the nerves of the unknown lingers on as you sat in the classroom, awaiting your professor arrival. Suddenly, the door swung
open and a tall, muscular, Caucasian male walked in, commanding the class attention by his demeanor. The nervousness intensifies as he proceeded to
call on the attendance. This is it people! the moment everyone, including your family, have been waiting for; firstâgeneration of your lineage to attend
college. Name by name each student signified their attendance by raising their right arm when called upon, but, there's a problem, your name was
not called on. What? How can it be? There's no way! you are overcome with complete and absolute shock; realizing you've been dropped from your
classes due to financial aid issue. To continue enrolling, you would have to pay out of pocket. The excitement that was there before, no longer remains.
Countless number of young adults are overwhelmed with the reality of college and paying for an education. For many students, each year, they are the
recipient of such a catastrophic experience. Unfortunately, I was the victim of this heartârending incident; imagine a society where financial aid and
student loans did not exist, but instead, the necessity of these financial programs would diminish because college tuition would be free. My speech
will be divided into two parts. The first part of my speech will be the problems of college tuition many students face. The second part will be solutions
to these problems. At the end of my speech, I hope to persuade my fellow classmates that college tuition should be free. I.For many students, the stress

6. Persuasive Essay About Identity
There you are. Just standing there, looking back at your reflection through the mirror and seeing all of the negative words permanently sticking to
you. Not very many people truly love who they are, and that is because of the society we live in today. No one likes to be judged all of the time for
who they are or what they do. So, we end up doing anything to fit in, no matter what. Your identity is who you are and your actions, and you shouldn't
be ashamed of it, but some people are. Those people are the ones that have figured out that they won't fit in unless they manage to change something,
and unfortunately they choose to change their identity, because of stereotypes, prejudice, and self doubt. One reason people want their identity to
change, is because of prejudice. When someone is prejudice towards you, they have an opinion about you that isn't based on reason or experience,
but it seems like it never goes away. So, in order for you to be liked, or feel like you fit in, you feel like you are forced to be what the opposite of
their opinion about you. I personally have been in that situation with my dancing. I dance with all high schoolers, so I am basically the baby of the
team, but I don't necessarily feel that way. Some people have told me I wasn't good enough though, or at least made it seem like it, and it really
messed with my mind on how I perceived myself. That's when I started wanting to be different, so I could be liked, or at least fit in with everyone else

7. Cell Phones Persuasive Essay
Cell phones have become a major part of peoples lives and in modern society. Cell phones are current in society, adults to small children have cell
phones. A debate on cell phones in school is occurring more and more. Do students deserve to have their cell phones for use during instruction time or
school hours? Research states that cell phones are no benefit to students in school. Others claim to state that cell phones are in fact, beneficial to
students and will not damage the learning environment for students. These arguments have been more plentiful in schools all over the country. Some
schools have decided and ruled out cell phones, but other schools are still tied up in the debate. Students should not be able to operate cell phones

Cell phones will simply make it easier for students to cheat and be dishonest. Cell phones can distract and interrupt students and their class. In modern
society, everyone pays attention to their cell phones and nothing else. Students are no exception to this, they will spring for their cell phones after every
ring, vibrate, or notification. It would be very difficult for students to pay attention and learn. With text and social media, students would rather be
occupied with their cell phones, then learning. Cell phones are major interruptions in class and to the students. For example, a student may have their
phone set to silent mode, which is most likely, and it rings in the middle of class. In this situation, the cell phone will not only interrupt the student, but
the student's entire class. A cell phone cannot just be a distraction and interruption to the student, but also can be an interruption and distraction to the
classmates. If students are allowed to use their cell phones in class, they will use them to look at non educational, which another distraction. Another
problem that comes with allowing cell phones to be used in school is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying occurs online, usually it happens on social media,
text, or emails. Cyber bullying is when one person says hurtful things about an another person over the Internet. Bullying also occurs a lot in schools
also. Cell phones would

8. Persuasive Essay About Aliens
For many years, numerous people have pretended aliens are not real, well I am here today to prove their theory wrong. Hundreds among thousands
of people from all over the world have seen, and even made contact with extraterrestrial life. Will you be next or have you already? They are
horrifying stories that come up often with extraterrestrials. Are they fake or your worst nightmare? ĐĐSightings within 500 feet are subclassified as
various types of ĐĐclose encountersĐĐ( Hynek 41.) There have been over 104,947 sightings in a decade. There was a sighting back in the 1600s
when John Winthrop had unusual writing in his diary about a ĐĐgreat light in the nighttime sky"( Hynek 32.) On September 19, 1976, people in
Tehran, Iran saw an unidentified flying object around twelve am. Systems started to fail when the unidentified flying object was twenty miles away.
Most sightings have been reported in Roswell, New Mexico. In the year 1947, a balloon was seen crashing into the land of a nearby ranch near
Roswell, New Mexico but theories say otherwise. Multiple accusations have been arguing about it, but, the real mystery, if it was just a United States
Air Force balloon then why did they try to cover it up?

9. Persuasive Essay
Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made
schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and
their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they
unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the
reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads.
Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just
don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to
check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the
iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my

10. Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but
to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the
requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it
changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because
only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful
and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative,
and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise
repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set â this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is
expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and
are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

11. Persuasive Speech On Too Much Homework
Everyday I wake up and get ready for yet another gruesome school day. As I do this, I find myself filled with stress, anxiety, and honestly just a pure
hatred, for the massive amount of homework that is going to pile up as the day drags on. Is that really how it how it should be? I personally feel that
students are being forced under a lot of pressure because of the overwhelming amounts of homework that is assigned to them. Before you begin with the
eyerolls and rebuttals as to why homework is important to our education, let me just I agree with you! Homework isn't entirely useless, and it has many
great qualities, but the immense amounts tend to be too much for us to bear. Too much homework can really be a problem for students, some have

Yes, I understand that sometimes I need more help on certain topics and sometimes students do need more help with something, but I think that
teachers should still have more of a limit to how much homework they can assign, given the fat that they are only one of the seven other classes we
have to take and that's not including other outâofâschool activities and clubs we are taking part in.
Along with homework being too repetitive, it can also be damaging to our physical and mental health. Fow example, sleep. So many students, not
only in my school, are losing a lot of sleep due to all of the homework, as I said before, that they have to complete after arriving home. For me, after
getting home from a sporting event at midnight, showering, doing chores, probably eating, doing my homework, and preparing for the next day of
school, it is usually sometime around 3 o'clock at night before I actually crawl into bed. That's ridiculous! A Lot like my elders (teacher, parents,
grandparents etc.) are always nagging about us staying up all night scrolling on Instagram or Twitter and watching Youtube, I think they should also be
doing something about the insane amounts of homework that we have keeping us up all night. My parents don't let me have my phone in my room at
night because they think/know that I will be up all night playing on it, but

12. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The
feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to
create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical
thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because
they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do
not believe my essay would have been as wellâwritten so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my
argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not
necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the
outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why
you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague.
I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my
essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This
question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the
issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the
main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your
readers can have a full understanding of your

Ok, Tee I"m going, to be honest, I don 't really know what to say. I 'm going through a weird change in my life right now, and I don 't want us
having our arguments to always be a problem. If I do come off rude, I ask for your forgiveness in advance. I think the way I want to start this is by
asking what is a friend. The word "Friend" is used in many different ways such as; "a supporter or sympathizer" "a person known well to another
and regarded with liking, affection" "a person whom one knows well and is fond of" To me, a friend is someone that should be a part of your family

to choose between a brother or a sister. What does my Ramblings have to do with me and you? I view you the way I view friendship, you do these
things as if you were like a brother to me. Such as when I need someone to talk to and I don 't think they would understand you do, or if I need
someone to play with or if I 'm doing a project such as fixing or cleaning a game you help me, when I want to talk to someone about what interest
me you are there. Whenever you do something that hurt me or you tell I 'm sad you try your best to fix what you did or make me feel better.

14. Persuasive Essay On Fake News
Almost 1.8 billion people use Facebook, and about half of American adults use as their main news source. According to Cambridge Dictionary, fake
news is false stories that appear to be news, spread on the internet or using other media, usually created to influence political views or as a joke.
Currently, many people are debating over the problem of fake news. For example, in the 2016 election, two candidates were chosen, Hillary Clinton and
Donald Trump. As many citizens possessed different political views, some started to create posts and articles to try and change other's political
opinions. As a result of this, companies were criticized for not taking measures to reduce the amount of fake news. Later, companies started to take
control of their software, as it is essential to handle fake news as most people receive their information from these outlets. Although some argue that
the spread of fake news is the fault of the people who create it, it should be largely the company's responsibility to control its spread; they should add
algorithms to determine a post's validity.
During the 2016 presidential election, Facebook was greatly disparaged for not making an attempt to counter fake news. Although Mark Zuckerberg
mentioned that Facebook had no connection with the outcome of the election, some thought otherwise. For example, a man named Eric Tucker took a
picture of a road filled with buses who he claimed were filled with protesters who he thought would march against Donald

15. Persuasive Essay On Self Control
First thing that I do every morning when I get up is pray and ask God for his protection and help me to control myself where I go during the day, it
could be work, school, the store etc. Selfâcontrol is a skill we all possess yet we tend to give ourselves little credit for it. Besides, the ability to remain
calm under pressure and exercise selfâcontrol has a direct link to our performance. Moreover, when it comes to selfâ control, it is so easy to focus on
our failures that our successes tend to faded in comparison. Furthermore, selfâcontrol is an effort that's intended to help one achieve a goal. One thing
that I do to exercise selfâcontrol at my in helping me achieve that goal at my workplace at times is to mediate. Research shows that mediation train
one brain to become a selfâ control machine. In addition, while mediating, I pray and ask God for his protection for be mindful of what I do and say.
In that process one thing I do is take few minutes to focus on nothing but my breathing and my sense, which improve selfâawareness and my brain
ability to resist negative desires. Another thing is selfâforgiveness. If someone wrong me I will ask God to forgive me first then I will ask god to help
me forgive that person. Impression management is a psychological process by which people attempt to control how they are perceived by other
people and groups. When I'm at work, I do not work to impress anyone, I work so that God can be pleased with what I do. I do not do eyes servant

16. Persuasive Essay On Suicide
In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide
because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own
life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of lifeâthreatening physical illness, significant interpersonal
stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are
increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you
can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading
cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirtyâfour" (Goff).
Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful,
valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed
suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for selfâinflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated
800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteenâ to twentyânineâyearâolds worldwide. Women
attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm"
(Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives.
The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your
family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you

17. Persuasive Essay On Censorship
Censorship has been a touchy topic over the past few years. Everyone has their own opinion on the topic, but the fact is censorship is way more
damaging than people may notice. First off, the definition of censorship is to restrain, block, and censor ideas and information that some may find
offensive. The basic definition of censorship completely violates the First Amendment. We, as Americans, have the right to Freedom of Speech.
Censorship blocks that by blocking anything some may find offensive. It's not fair because they're blocking out how people feel/think just because

children though. It really affects everyone equally. It allows the government to have too much control over what we learn and know. What if we
lived in a dystopian society. For example, if you've ever seen the movie or read the book The Giver by Lois Lowry, the city kept everyone from
learning about the world's past and why they have to obey their rules and only their rules and do whatever job they assign them. Private groups and
public authorities in various parts of the country are working to remove or limit access to reading materials, to censor content in schools, to label
controversial views. Most people believe that free communication is essential to the preservation of a free society and a creative culture. Another
touchy topic about they types of censorship we have is open religion. We have the Freedom of Religion. But many schools don't allow religious
practices, teachings, or even how they dress. What's wrong with anyone expressing their religion and how they think of God peacefully and freely?

19. Persuasive Essay On Family Vacation
Approximately 33% or a third of all families in the United States will go on a family vacation this year. Family vacations when you break it down is
entirely for the parents. Parents and their children are stressed during the school year, whether it's providing for the family or homework. Family
vacations may be stress reducing or enhancing depending on where you go, who you're going with, and why you're going.
Where you go can influence how your trip will be. If you go to an amusement park, such as Disneyland, you should expect to have some
enhancement of stress due to lines, prices, or poor weather. However, if you are one of the individuals that get all sun and no lines, then you
might enjoy yourselves. If you are traveling to a relative's house or town, you may feel more relaxed if you like said relatives. However, if you have
too many relatives or don't like said relatives, you may become even more stressed than before you left. If you travel to another state or outside the
country you are more likely to be relaxed if you go to your native language speaking country or region. My family has traveled outside of our home
multiple times before, and we have even lived in a whole other continent, with different cultures and scenes, in Singapore. From Singapore, you have a
