PerSOnal capacity since the early days ofmy own career when he was media specialist
and I was a social studies teacher at Marlboro High School. In his role as media
SPeCialist, Bert tumed the media center into the instructional hub ofthe school. He
COmPletely refurbished the media center there, adding the latest technoIogy and providing
the most updated services. Bert’s wam and outgoing personality insured a welcommg

Years later I found myselfaccepting a prmCipal’s position at Lower Cape May
Regional High School. I also found myself in the unusual position ofneeding to hire two
assistant princIPals. It was important for me to find two dynamic and talented individuals
