Along with a law degree from Harvard Law School and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Benjamin Spacapan holds a cum laude undergraduate degree from Princeton University. In 2011, Benjamin Spacapan was named an Ivy League Rugby All-Ivy Honorable Mention player for the Princeton Rugby Club. Like the Princeton Rugby Club, which emphasizes tradition and success, the world of international rugby prides itself on its rich history and traditions. Thought to be developed at the England's Rugby School in the early 1800s, the sport saw its first international match between between Scotland and England in 1871. Since 1905, every Rugby World Cup game has been initiated using the same whistle, known as the Gil Evans Whistle. Named for Gil Evans, referee of the 1905 game between England and New Zealand, the whistle has been used to kick off numerous international tournaments, including the 1924 Olympic rugby final. The whistle was donated to the New Zealand Rugby Museum in 1969, and it remains there between Rugby World Cups, which take place every four years.
