To Whom It May Concern:
I was asked by Mr. Benard Xypolitidis, M.Sc., to provide a letter of recommendation, which is enclosed
here.
I first met Benard as a student in my Master level course Embedded Parallel Computing in spring 2014. I
remember him as an ambitious and hardworking student. Throughout the course and the obligatory
seminars Benard showed a strong interest in the area of parallel computing and was able to quickly acquire
a deep knowledge in the field.
During the spring and summer of 2015 Benard worked on his Masters thesis at the department. The thesis
titled “Architectural Design Space Exploration of Manycores” was completed in September 2015. Even if
my colleague, Assistant Professor Zain-ul-Abdin, did the main supervision, I have been trying to
continuously follow the progress of Bernard’s work. The complex task at hand was methodologically
solved and very interesting results have come out of this project. Based on his master thesis work we have
also written a conference paper which has been submitted to the 24th
Euromicro Conference on Parallel,
Distributed and Network-Based Processing (PDP), 2016.
Bernard’s appearance is polite and calm and it is very easy to communicate and interact with him. I find
Benard to be highly competent and capable of producing good results. He works hard and persistently
towards his goals, and he adapts and quickly learns new things.
With Regards,
(Professor Tomas Nordström)
