Tribe was formed in June 2016, from a 10 year partnership
between culture experts, JOMC and communications specialists,
Hill Solomon.
Our unique approach combines the science of culture change with the
art of creative communication to help major national and international
companies to influence better, safer and more proactive work cultures.
We offer a complete culture change solution that draws upon over 20
years of experience in delivering successful programmes in health,
safety, wellbeing and quality.
At Tribe, we believe that employee involvement and engagement is the
key to successful culture change. We take pride in the fact that lives
have been saved, incidents have been minimised, and workplaces have
become healthier and more productive because of work we have done
with our clients.
We are proud to be making a difference on construction sites,
telecommunications towers, power plants and oil rigs; in shops,
airports and chocolate factories, and on cruise ships, railways
and even submarines, all across the globe.
On average, our clients
see 30% fewer incidents
after one year and 85%
less in 3-5 years.

CULTURE INSIGHT
AND VISION
We use intelligence and creativity to map out your culture change journey.
Our starting point is to listen to you. We understand how to enable strong culture better than
most, but nobody understands your business better than you. We will work with you to establish
where your culture is now, then make recommendations for how best to get you to where you
want to be.
This means a clear and inspiring vision, leaders who engage with their people, with honesty
and integrity, individuals who take responsibility for their actions and look out for each other,
and have a belief in continuous improvement processes at all levels.
For every programme we develop, we look to include these key elements while providing
the resource, knowledge, tools and skills to allow our clients to sustain and develop their
culture themselves.

Thank you for taking part in todays workshop, where we
have looked at the link between workplace safety and
human behaviour and what influences us to act the way
we do.
Throughout Transport and Technical Services, our aim is to create
a safe work environment, so that we can all leave each day with
our health intact and unaffected by our work. In other words, our
vision for health and safety performance is the elimination of all
work-related injuries and ill-health.In the coming months we will build on today’s event with a
programme to help us to secure a significant and sustainable
improvement in health and safety performance.
The programme will be designed to improve awareness of health
and safety, by making it personal and relevant to each of us, so
that it influences our choices and actions. We will only achieve our
vision if each one of us contributes positively and continuously to
help produce a first class health and safety culture.
We actively encourage and respect your
comments on how we can make our workplace
safer and healthier. Please now spend time to
fill in this culture survey. Your honest responses
will help us to shape a programme of training
and communications that will improve workplace
health and safety for all of us.

Culture assessment
Before you start your culture change journey, you need to
firstly understand what your culture looks like today.
Our employee surveys and focus groups will help to reveal
the current perceptions, expectations and priorities held by
groups of employees at every level. We will highlight specific
challenges and strengths, enabling us to work with you to
pinpoint areas that need addressing in your culture
change plan.
Senior leadership
engagement
We will work with the senior leaders in your business to focus in
on what we have learned, and construct an effective vision for
the project moving forward. We then move beyond the visionary
elements, to help them reflect on the challenges they face, and
give them practical coaching on how to achieve their goal.
Steering team development
To support the delivery of the programme, and ensure a
strong culture on the project, we will help you create a steering
team to action the process across the business. With cross-
representation from across the site, you will get a wide variety
of input with which to drive improvement.

Vision and branding - creating an identity
No matter how important you consider your message to be, if you don’t ‘sell’ it to the
workforce, it will get lost in the sea of communication that bombards them every day.
We will bring your programme to life by creating an identity and vision that will engage and
inspire your workforce. Your ‘brand’ becomes tangible, something that everyone can refer to,
perceive and touch. The more your colleagues see your brand identity, logo or slogan, the
more your message will become part of your company’s language and culture.

ENGAGING YOUR PEOPLE
We sustain your culture change journey with a compelling, creative
and memorable programme, designed to develop and engage your people.
We develop bespoke programmes to include a powerful blend of specifically designed
communication tools, programme materials, workshops and events, that will help deliver and
sustain a strong culture. We will ensure that your campaigns have the ‘stickiness factor’; this is
the quality that makes something so memorable that it will spur someone to action, inspire a
movement and ultimately create change.
Our unique, original and sometimes unconventional solutions to a brief, help make messages
compelling, memorable and ‘sticky’. We get people up and moving, contributing ideas, sharing
examples, questioning, challenging themselves and others, and talking positively about health,
safety and quality in a totally fresh way.
Whether you are looking for a solution to a short term communications issue, one-off training or
as part of a long term culture change process, we can help you get your message across by
making it real, telling a story, motivating and involving the workforce.

development, scriptwriting and storyboarding, through to
directing, filming and editing the final programme.

Manager and workforce development
We have a remarkable team of experienced consultants and trainers to help you engage your
workforce at every level, and bring key messages to life. We take pride in the fact that we do
not have any ‘standard’ workshops.
Every client is different, with specific needs, so every workshop will be bespoke. Naturally, we
have a variety of well proven workshop tools that we use, designed to influence change, raise
awareness of key cultural challenges and stimulate great discussions. The team will support
your culture change process at every level of your organisation and train your own people to
sustain the change.
Interactive learning tools include:
Workshop activities using film or live actors
Conversation training (SUSA / effective conversations)
360° walk-through tours
Dynamic induction tools
E-learning modules.
As well as delivering highly effective workshops ourselves, we will train your own internal
champions to deliver the training and ensure a high level of delivery across the business.

Creating champions
Creating champions
The success of any kind of social movement is heavily
dependent on the involvement of the right people. Natural
connectors, enthusiastic and passionate individuals, they
may be the leaders in your organisation, or both formal and
informal leaders, or influencers.
By selecting the right people in your organisation and giving
them the right skills and tools, they will help you to spread your
message across the workforce, eventually creating a ‘tipping
point’, leading to significant, lasting culture change.
We work with companies to coach their leaders, create
steering groups and train ‘champions’ to promote the safety,
wellbeing or quality message throughout the company, by
engaging with employees and peers.
Effective discussions
The best mechanism we’ve found to make this engagement
happen is to teach people the skills to have an effective safety
or quality discussion - the kind of conversation that gets
individuals to think differently about the job and risks they face.
When done properly, it’s a question based, active listening
approach that has dramatic and positive effects.
SUSTAINING THE CHANGE
We drive continuous improvement… to keep you on track towards
achieving your vision.
By far the most effective way to create a sustainable change in culture is to enable internal
champions. With the credibility of understanding the business and equipped with the right
material, your ‘champions’ can then stand up and train others.
We use tools, such as our ‘Engage’ software, to keep people talking about safety and
quality and sharing lessons learned. We also create lively, interactive e-learning tools,
‘virtual’ induction training and on-going communications to drive continuous improvement.

Coaching and support
One of the most critical aspects of creating the right culture
is the focus on creating a sustainable change in behaviour
- recognising this isn’t about an initiative, it’s a long-term
difference in the way people work.
We will create a bespoke champions toolkit that can be
amended and translated to cater for diverse business sectors
and local languages. As individuals, your local champions will
be on a steep learning curve as they develop in their role. Our
development programme will help them to effectively enable
the toolkit to deliver local change.
Reward and recognition
Safety, wellbeing and quality can often be seen as a negative
topic because of the focus on things that go wrong in a
business. An effective reward and recognition programme will
shift people’s mentality towards the positive benefits that can
accrue from getting it right.
360° Site tours -
virtual safety inductions
Our 360° site tours use a similar technology to Google Street
View, to allow our clients to share an interactive walk-through
of their sites. It is ideal for employee or contractor inductions,
particularly those in high risk, hazardous environments, where
key risks can be pointed out before an actual site tour.
How does it work?
Using either an iPad, smart phone or PC, inductees can
explore the site as they wish and create their own tour. Various
information boxes throughout the induction will show hazard
spots or best practice examples. By demonstrating quality,
safety and environmental best practice in this way, you can
clearly show what ‘good’ looks like.
Social media, measurement and insight
Getting people to share learning, ideas, issues and improvement opportunities is critical to
developing a stronger culture - continuous improvement is a key hallmark of great culture.
‘Engage’ is your social network hub to capture, share and learn from conversations about
safety, wellbeing or quality. Working in a similar fashion to successful social networks, such as
Facebook or Twitter, our ‘Engage’ software plays upon people’s instinctive desire to comment,
express opinions and interact with one another online.
Where there are technology challenges, we can create high quality ‘Engage’ stations to allow
paper-based feedback, for the information to be later transferred into Engage or other systems
as appropriate.
‘Engage’ is like a window into your company’s culture in real time. It encourages open
conversation between people who learn together, allowing you to discover hidden causes of
unsafe behaviour before anyone gets hurt.
Analyse conversations to see what really matters to people
Spot root causes, risk hot-spots and new opportunities for improvement
Identify who your safety champions are and set examples
Tailor reports to your specific needs and goals
Reduce burdensome data-entry through team effort.
