8. OLCC DUII Sources
Oregon Liquor Control Commission.
Based on self-reported drinking establishment during DUII stops or intoxicated crashes.
Of the 975 establishments,
the top 25 account for
22% of all 6,352 citations.
The High Crash Network makes up 7% of the centerline miles of roads within city limits, but accounts for 47% of all fatal crashes
(42% of F+A crashes are on all-modes HCN)
Actions – where will they happen.
This is simplest way to look at it. Others lead us to answering more specific questions.
Ped safety trend heading in wrong direction – how do we capture breadth of problem.
Difference between serious injury crash and minor injury can be circumstantial. Can see in bright blue what else popped.
Another new data set excited about is this one from OLCC that helps us understand where drunk driving trips start. Maps last place some who is cited with DUII was drinking. Answers the question, people who were pulled over for DUII(, where ere they driniikng last?
Excitement of this data set, almost 1000 bars in Portland but if we partner with almost 20, we can have significant impact on DUII.
Purpose: Evaluating the sources of DUII stops and crashes provides data to support focused and collaborative education and enforcement programs with a variety of stakeholders.
Data: From the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. During DUII stops or after intoxicated crashes, drivers are asked where they were drinking. This data covers 10 years (2005 – 2014) and includes 6,352 reports for 975 establishments in Portland.
