Avaali relies on tech for business solutions
1. Avaali Relies On Tech For Business Solutions
Chennai: In this competitive market, it is tough for a startup to establish itself and stand the test of
time, so to say. ‘Avaali Solutions’ that ofers consulting services is one such example. Its founder
Srividya Kannan speaks to ‘News Today’.
Q: What is Avaali Solutions all about?
A: Avaali is a consulting and professional services organisation focused on supporting upper-mid
to large enterprises to create and execute their digital road map.
Our mission is to enable enterprises to accelerate the execution of their stated business goals with
the help of digital tools and technologies.
We support our customers to maximise value from digital and help them translate this value in the
form of customer experience, internal process efficiency, reduced costs and delivering the
organisation’s stated objective.
Q: Being a corporate employee in the past, what made you venture into entrepreneurship?
A: I’ve been engaging with large enterprise customers for a long time during my various corporate
stints. I do like to challenge myself and believe that the biggest learning comes from the toughest
experiences.
Entrepreneurship has been on my list for a few years. It is also exciting to work with the best minds
in the industry who I can say are a part of my team. Learning from them and working with them
is both energising and a lot of fun. Had I continued in my corporate job, I wouldn’t have got the
kind of opportunities that I get now.
Q: How does technological consulting enable businesses to perform better?
A: Technology consulting and implementation is a sine qua non to run business processes
effectively. It significantly improves the jobs of employees-they are able to focus on driving
2. business goals in a far more effective way as a result of the visibility and control that they now
get.
It has brought down costs and improved productivity, increased revenues and brought enterprises
closer to their customers, as a result of the improvement in stakeholder experiences.
Q: What are the challenges faced by you as an entrepreneur?
A: The challenges are many. But without these, the ride wouldn’t have been enjoyable. It does
take time to build customer trust, enough to have them invest their time and money in any vendor.
The initial years were tough, because we were new and had tough competition. Being a new kid
on the block, it was difficult to navigate through the key decision makers, convince them of our
capabilities.
We had to continue to invest in building the right talent while we were even waiting for projects
to click in our favor.
Q: What is your advice for aspiring startups in the field of business management?
A: Startups are about great business ideas executed well. A bit of risk taking is important – too
much of thinking and analysis without action means a zero start and without a start there can be
no experience.
At the same time, taking rash decisions and not giving attention to details is not a good idea.
Arriving the fine balance between risk and reward is difficult and requires a lot of hard work and
decisions made on evidence, facts and intuition. Think of it as bringing up a new born or infant
during the early years, it requires much investment of time and resources to ensure build-up of a
strong immune system, resiliency and robustness.
This requires ongoing commitment of the team and a never say die attitude. Having family support
is also crucial and imperative to the success of any startup.
At the end of the day, as a promoter, one needs to be passionate for running a startup. My advice
for aspiring entrepreneurs, would be to be honest with yourself and do the things that really matter
the most.
