Their goal is to publish a manuscript and donate 50% of revenue to a charity called "Angel Express" to assist those in dire financial straits with car repairs.
1. 2015 Update to “Teacher Gettin’ Taught” –
I am excited about this upcoming summer – for I shall drawing to a close my project,
which served to open my eyes in varying ways to the dynamics within the realms of
poverty and humanity! In the previous year, I went undercover as a debt collector and at a
family business, as well, in the Seattle region, and what I discovered was very
enlightening, to say the least.
At present, beginning June 1st
, I shall be embarking on the final leg of my project – and
have decided to sleep for 90 days in my Ford Explorer throughout the state of
Washington and BC, interviewing organizations and homeless individuals, as well as
politicians and citizens who are making a difference. I am extremely delighted to be
shortly interviewing a 9-year-old who is making a difference in Bremerton, WA by
building – yes, building - shelters for the homeless. Her parents are likewise amazing for
fostering such a sense of philanthropy within their daughter.
I also plan on interviewing communities who are experiencing hardship within this state
as well as BC and what positive overtures are being initiated to alleviate said hardship.
I am also delighted by the prospect of receiving media attention for my project. I wasn’t
ready for it 3 years ago, but now, as my project draws nigh to a finish, I am ready.. and
was delighted to be invited to discuss the people I’m interviewing and my project on a
radio station in Seattle and other stations, as well.
My end goal is this – upon the publishing of my manuscript, I shall give 50% of the
revenue back to society under a charity, I shall call “Angel Express”. It shall be
dedicated towards assisting those who are in dire straits and in need of financial
assistance with their car repair. Unfortunately, vehicles are the primary source for many
Americans to get to work and if a family experiences economic difficulty, it can be
doubly hard to repair a vehicle, particularly, if that’s their sole travel source.
God has been so good to me by blessing me with so many open doors and meeting people
of all ilk who have believed in what I do.. and it is with a grateful heart that I can
honestly say for the rest of my days, I shall dedicate my life to doing my small part in
making this world a better place.
From my heart to yours to all who read this,
