Dear HR Director,
My extensive laboratory, field work, and professional experience has supported my passion and
degree in Environmental Science, Technology & Policy. In the course of my studies, I focused on
addressing environmental issues pragmatically with emergent technologies and linking those
solutions to state and federal policies. I am therefore seeking an Environmental Scientist
position where I can excel and develop these skills towards a career in environmental
consulting.
A desire to apply my knowledge of environmental processes prompted me to help design a
complete trail restoration for California State Parks to control sediment discharge where I
created a unique automated berm-model for step-pool systems. The submitted design will
hopefully be implemented by their land managers in the near future. I also recently led an
independent ecological study on Fort Ord Landfill sites where we determined the effectiveness
of the Army’s remediation techniques compared to vegetation on native sites.
I would like to take what I’ve learned so far into the professional field, working for a leading
organization such as yours that specializes in innovative approaches to remediation and
