2. What Pegi Ratings do.
Pegi ratings are things that people put on games and videos to place them into a class that
makes them eligible for people in that age group or above.
Pegi ratings also stop children seeing things that most of the time should no be seeing at
there age for example if the film/Game has drugs or gambling they will be Pegi 18 so people
under that age limit do not get any ideas about taking drugs because in some games the
main character might think it’s a good idea to take drugs and anyone under that age limit
might try it because it says its good in a game/Film.
3. Each Form of Classification
Suitable for all ages. May contain mild violence
in an appropriate context for younger children,
but no explicit language is allowed.
Suitable for ages 7 and older. May contain
mild, cartoon violence, sports, or elements
that can be frightening to younger children.
Suitable for ages 12 and older. May contain
violence in a fantasy setting, coarse language,
mild sexual references or innuendo, or
gambling.
Suitable for ages 16 and older. May contain
explicit violence, strong language, sexual
references or content, gambling, or drug use
(encouragement).
Suitable for ages 18 and older. May contain graphic violence, including
"violence towards defenceless people" and "multiple, motiveless killing",
strong language, strong sexual content, gambling, drug use
(glamorisation), or discrimination.
