A graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Ashok Bagdy holds a master of science in computer and information science. Ash Bagdy is currently the head and vice president of the outsourcing services department at Cameo Corporate Services Limited. At his current firm, Ashok Bagdy provides healthcare facilities and hospitals with virtual scribes. The role of a scribe in medicine is to create a report of a patient’s medical history and examination. Virtual scribes work without any need for human intervention as they can be connected virtually during an appointment and it fills all the details needed in the Electronic Health Records. The most important thing that a virtual scribe does, is that it buys time. In this way, no other doctors need to be present and they can see more patients during a day and if needed the physician can review and update the scribe. Virtual scribes can cut costs and save space as an in-person scribe would require a desk, chairs, and a locker. Virtual scribes also lead to a better patient-doctor relationship as it is less intrusive since there’s no other in-person scribe in the room to assist the examination.
