SOLENT REFIT FACILITY OVERVIEW
Solent Refit is the UK’s largest undercover superyacht refit & repair facility. With
sixteen slots, fourteen of which are under 10,000sqm of halls, Solent Refit is the
number one choice for taking Modern or Classic, Motor or Sail Yachts up to 65m in
length, 12m beam, 4.5m draught and 1500 tonnes on the horizontal slipway with no
height restrictions.
Solent Refit prides itself on offering its customers a reliable, transparent and flexible
approach within a very secure facility. Each clients needs are different and that’s
why at Solent Refit we tailor a package that meets your requirements. Solent Refit
employees over 20 highly skilled engineers who have a wealth of experience, a keen
eye for detail and are committed to providing an unrivalled service to the superyacht
industry.
The facility also offers 15 deep-water berths up to 120m, 3.5m draught with 24hr
maximum security. The vast size of the pontoon offers our customers the ability to
have fuelling trucks, 20ft containers and helicopter landing alongside.
Established over seven years ago, Solent Refit is fast approaching it’s 100th
yacht refit
and its testimonials are a testament to the teams efforts. With the newly acquired
30 year lease, Solent Refit have put in place an improvement plan to make this a
world class superyacht refit facility for the future. If refits are of a certain size then
we are willing to cover relocation fuel costs from the Mediterranean and the likes.

PLANNING
We appoint a dedicated Project Manager to every contract from the outset, so that
your project is completed on time and to budget. The Project Manager becomes
your first point of contact, ensuring that your expectations are accurately conveyed
within the company and that progress is regularly monitored and reported. Solent
Refit has extensive knowledge of both classification society regulations and MCA
requirements.

FACILITIES

Surface area and capacity
15,000 square metre wharf including 10,000 square metres of secure undercover
heated halls. A total of 16 slots up to 65m;

2 x 65m (Tented in on the hard standing with no height restrictions)
2 x 45m (Undercover)
12 x 38m (Undercover)

The Halls have a height restriction of 19m off the blocks. We can discuss various
options with you and mast cropping.

Lifting and Moving

• 1500 tonne horizontal slipway (65M LOA, 15M B, 4.4M D) No Height restrictions.
• Effortless powered rail system from slip to halls.
• 30 tonne telescopic mobile crane

• 20m Elevating Platform

Floating

• 15 Deep water Berths on floating platforms up to 120m LOA. (3.5m draught at low
tide with soft silt below)

1,000 square metres of offices and workshops. Fully equipped Structural,
Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, and Wood Workshops onsite. 500 square metres
of under cover and container units for all year round storage

Security

Security is a high priority at Solent Refit with the assets that we have on site 24
hours a day 365 days a year. That is why we have two security access gates which is
manned 24/7 365 Days. No one can eneter site without being put on security by the
Solent Refit Management Team. All visitors must go through reception before
accessing site where they are briefed on Security, Health & Safety and are given a
key pass entry system. The security of your assets and the health and safety and
wellbeing of all on site our number one priority.

YARD DEVELOPMENT
The facilities in Hythe has recently had a £1m new roof fitted over the 10,000sqm
and an impressive hospitality suite overlooking the Southampton estuary is
underway which will provide luxury office space, a gym, canteen, outside bar and
lounge area for all our visiting crews alongside improved project management
offices. The Pontoon and berths are all to be repainted and new wooden walkways
will soon be a feature along with warm welcoming planted boarders around the
berths to make it more a home from home. The Pier is to get a new lease of life with
upgraded lighting. The facility is also investing in showers, wc’s, bikes and all
weather golf buggies for crews.

CONTINUED MAINTENANCE

Once you leave the yard, the support doesn’t stop there. We offer long term
maintenance support packages to all our customers. International riding squads can
be with you within a matter of hours 7 days a week.
