Group therapy involves treating a small group of 6-8 patients with common disabilities together. It provides opportunities for patients to build endurance, increase speed, and gain confidence through peer support and competition. Benefits include learning responsibility, receiving encouragement from others, and being distracted from disabilities through objective games. However, there are also disadvantages like misunderstandings that can occur from poor patient selection, explanation, group composition, or instruction techniques by therapists.

2. Group exercise
◦Group therapy is a form of therapy in which one or
more therapists treat a small group of clients
together as a group.
◦ • Provides the opportunity for the patients to build
up his endurance and increase the speed of his
performance.
◦• Give him confidence in his own abilities

3. Group exercise
◦Comprised of 6-8 people having common disability
◦ Because of the common group ,exercise should be
taught simultaneously, then time is being alloted for
free exercise
◦Patient perform exercise accd to his own capacity,
being helped, resisted,encouraged and corrected by
the therapists accd to individual need.

4. Advantages.
1. Learns to take responsibility for his own exercise.
• In group, amount of attention given to individual
patient decrease in proportional to number in the group,
but measure of help, supervision and encouragement is
available.
2. Learn to work with each other and no longer consider
himself apart from his fellow-men because of his disability

further effort
◦ 4. Effort is stimulated by some activities which call
for a mild form of competition.
◦5. Patients are helped to forget their disability
temporarily by objectivies and games. This help to
promote natural movements ,natural activities and

6. Disadvantages
◦Misunderstanding of the system due to faulty
selection of patients, inadequate explanation to the
patients, grading of groups, overcrowding of group,
poor technique of explanation by the therapists.
