1. A STUDY ON AWARENESS OF HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS THAT CAUSES
SEXUAL TRANSMITTED DISEASE
ABSTRACT
The studies discuss about the human papilloma virus that cause sexual transmitted
diseases. In this diseases is mainly about skin to skin contact between infectious person
to non- infectious person. It is the disease of reproductive system that also may occur at
other part of body such as mouth by oral sexual activity. This disease is mainly infected
through sexual activity without safe sex. The main objective of this research is to study
about awareness of human papilloma virus that may lead to sexual transmitted disease.
The survey was conducted at Shah Alam district in period of 1st
April to 11th
August ,
2012 . The collection is mainly about to know weather population are aware or concern
about human papilloma virus that causing STD. Questionnaires was distributed to 140
respondents at SACC MALL in Shah Alam. All the respondents give a good responds in
answering my questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS version 18
Multilingual. The questionnaire are separated in few categories which are age, race, sex,
education and more. The age group of 18 to 22 years was the highest percentage which
is 38.6 % (p<0.05). Elderly people who are more then 43 years old are less infected
( 7%). Comparing to the gender wise female are prone to be more infective rather male.
The female percentage 67.9% while for male is 31.4%. Malays are recorded the highest
percentage giving awareness about this disease in this researches ( 46.4 %) , followed
by Indian (23.6 %) , Chinese (22.9 %) and others are (7.1 %). Most of the respondents
was not aware about the human papilloma virus that lead to Sexual transmitted diseases
(73.5 %) while a sum of (26.5 %) are aware about this diseases. The population should
be given general awareness on this upcoming disease especially among the teenagers
so that the risk in getting disease can be prevented in future.
