2. Diarrhea
Diarrhea is a loose, watery stools three or more times a
day.
Diarrhea may be acute, persistent or chronic.
Acute diarrhea is a common problem that lasts
1 or 2 days and goes away on its own.
Persistent diarrhea lasts longer than 2 weeks
and less than 4 weeks.
3. Nutrition intervention
Eat some foods high in potassium such as ripe
bananas, apricot or peach nectar.
Drink fluids between meals.
Eat small amount of food frequently.
4. Foods allowed
Protein foods: cheese (especially low fat),
Yoghurt, eggs, beef, pork.
Fruits and vegetables: Apple, banana, peaches,
apricots.
Breads and cereals: Oatmeal, oat bran, white
rice, plain noodles, white bread.
6. Home remedies
Rehydrating yourself
Make oral solution by mixing 1 liter of water
with half a tablespoon of salt and 6 teaspoon of
sugar.
