2. School Trips give you a chance to not only go out and see the world
with your peers, but allows you to do so in a way that teaches the
youth about the world around them. Short school trips allow the
students to take in bite sized information, typically with a reasonable
time that reflects what the student is doing in school. Longer school
trips allow for the trip to be themed, and the student can get many
different angles on the matter. Here are some of the themed school
trips that Appleseed Expeditions has to offer.
3. The Whale Shark Adventure
Most people, students or not, would be terrified to hear that they
would be swimming with sharks, and without a cage. This trip is for the
brave students who would like a chance to swim with the sharks!
Differing from the more aggressive sharks, like the tiger shark and the
great white shark, the whale shark has shown to be incredibly docile to
humans. The whale shark’s esophagus is only about an American
quarter wide, so the shark has no interest in trying to eat a person. This
8 day themed adventure will take students to Mexico and end in Belize,
stopping for snorkeling a couple times, a Mayan ruin, and also giving
the students a chance to volunteer and help make a difference along
the way.
4. Hollywood Backstage
Attention all drama club members, this trip is for you! Built around the
history and culture of film, this school trip takes students to Hollywood,
California for a 5 day trip. Students will get to see the backstage of
Warner Brother to better understand just how production works in the
movie theatre business. Students will also get to experience Universal
Studios in Hollywood to not only have fun, but also take in how a real,
working studio operates! Also, students will get to take a backstage
tour of the Los Angeles Natural History Museum to see how
animatronics are used in the entertainment business.
5. Cousteau’s Oceanic Adventure
Like the Whale Shark Adventure, this trip will take students right to the
action: in the water. Like Jacques Cousteau did long ago, students will
embark on an adventure to the Bahamas and go snorkeling at a few
different spots, including the famous Bahama snorkeling spot, the
Tongue of the Ocean, which is a 1000 foot drop off where spotted
dolphins will play and swim with students. Students will begin their
voyage by learning how to sail a large sailing vessel, and will find
themselves snorkeling in four different areas.
6. Social Media Adventure
Appleseed Expeditions, professionals in educational trips, says that this
is a trip for the soon-to-be business majors and computer techies! This
five day trip will take you to America’s very own Silicon Valley in
California. The journey will take students to headquarters by the likes
of Apple, Google, Twitter, and Facebook, and discuss the foundations
and ideas that got these big companies their start. The expedition will
also take students to the Tech Museum in San Jose, and also tour the
campus of Stanford University. Before heading home, the group will get
to see the Golden Gate Bridge, see the infamous prison of Alcatraz, and
volunteer at the Feed America Center.
