THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL ON OUTING TO CAPE TOWN
It is an incredible experience to be part of the ELS. People come to us with
the idea to learn English, but we see God working in their lives and they go
home as a changed individuals.
It is also amazing to see people learn; a student come with only the ability to
say his or her name in English, but after a term, the same person stands in
front of his fellow students and powerfully shares the word of God (in
English) !!!!!
However, it also has its difficult times. They sometimes rebel against the
homework, the work duties and my constant talk about "do not be late" and
"you must be at all meetings".
Just imagine yourself... you go to a foreign country, the food is different, everything is different, all speak different
languages, you live in a building with many other nationalities ... and then you have to cope with learning English. It makes
you very vulnerable, because you feel you cannot help yourself. Moreover, to top it all, this situation continuous for
approximately a year .For the students it is a difficult year and a great challenge.
The Lord taught me so much during my time at the ELS. I developed skills how to deal with people and how to make
people work together as a team. Dealing with conflict situations were challenging. Where I usually would turn and run
away, I had to deal with it... in a good way...
I also learned that we keep ourselves so busy with things, and then forget to spend time with the Lord; time just to receive
peace and rest in His presence. It does not matter where in the world we are or what we do. He just wants to be part of our
everyday lives. At the end of everything, he is all that matters!
The students went on an outreach to Cape Town that they enjoyed so much. We are also planning a… SURVIVOR ELS …
we will publish some photo’s in the next newsletter.
The new groups of students that will be joining the ELS in the fourth term come from different places, Togo, Egypt,
Switzerland, Korea, and Brazil. ELS will again offer the TESOL seminar in the last term.

The English Language School
We are also grateful that two of our students from Angola, which completed their English studies this quarter, decided to
do the Radical DTS. On the next page, we will elaborate more on the upcoming Radical Discipleship School.

Our staff comprises of 3 South Africans and 3 staff
from Brazil. Bianca, Caitlyn and I are from South
Africa. Caitlyn’s’ husband is also from Brazil and will
be joining us on staff at the beginning of the DTS.
The other two staff from Brazil is Mila and Heleine.
They are also the co-leaders of the school.
During the past three weeks, we as staff of the Radical DTS prepared ourselves for
the 6 months school that starts 18 September. From the beginning, God's word was
clear that we are only the instruments and that HE personally wants to meet each
one of the students. We currently have approximately 15 students from around the
globe joining to the school.
During the 6 month, I will keep you updated on the progress of the DTS. Especially
what God is doing in the students’ lives, but also in the lives of us as staff. Below
you will find the schedule for the DTS. I attached it particularly for the prayer
groups and people I know that is interceding for us in prayer. For those interested, I
will regularly share photos on my Facebook page “Anton van Wyk” but there would
also be updates on the "Radical DTS" Facebook page.
We prayed for each student for an individual word.
Just fooling around.
Prayer requests:
*Please pray that God will prepare each of the
student's hearts.
* Pray for each speaker that God will use him or her in
a special way in the students' lives.
* Pray for our staff to remain close to the Lord and
that he will receive ALL the honor.
*Pray for spiritual protection. "Our struggle is not
against flesh and blood, but the forces of evil …"
