Subject: Anthony Speller reference
Please be advised that I have known Anthony Speller for approximately 18 years and take great pleasure in
forwarding the following information regarding his manufacturing work experience. It is my understanding that he
has been selected to participate as an instructional leader in a great manufacturing awareness and hands on
education program for high school kids in Chicago.
Anthony's 1st assignment with me was in 1994 as a Business Team Leader for the GE Chicago Operations.
This was an 86 acre site with over 4 million square feet under roof that produced appliances and electrical
heating elements. Anthony reported directly to me, the Executive manager of the entire operation. In this role,
Anthony had full responsibility for leading the quality, safety, scheduling, maintenance, production and team
development of approximately 200 team members. Processes in his area of responsibility included jet
loading tubes, stainless steel tube mills, helix winding machines, resistance welders, flattening presses, tube
bending and forming equipment, metal extruding machines, annealing furnaces, electrical testing
equipment(voltage, current leak, hi-pot and wattage), coil slitting and blanking operations. He was on this
assignment for roughly 12 months. I then promoted Anthony to the Operations Manager for both assembly and
fabrication. In this role he had full responsibility for leading the entire production team of 485 team members and
did so until I was promoted and moved to Louisville, Kentucky 3 years later. In 1998 Anthony was promoted to
the Chicago Plant Operations Manager position, replacing me. Anthony's promotion to lead this operation put
him at the Executive Management Level in GE wherein he gained the privilege to participate in the Executive
Incentive and Stock Options programs. Anthony was very successful in these positions as well as his Plastics
Process Engineering position in the Dishwasher business in Louisville, KY.
Please also note that in regards to manufacturing training, he also graduated from a 2 year specialized
leadership training program entitled GE Manufacturing Management Program. This program was specifically
designed to generate the pipeline for future GE Manufacturing Leaders.
I sincerely hope this covers whatever information required to validate Anthony's manufacturing background
and experience. I have written on SMC letterhead to facilitate an expeditious process via electronic messaging.
Best regards,
MEMO
