June
  16,
  2015

To
  Whom
  It
  May
  Concern:

   I
  am
  writing
  this
  letter
  to
  recommend
  Anthony
  Martinek
  for
  the
  position
  of
  physics

teacher.

  Tony
  student
  taught
  with
  me
  from
  January
  to
  June
  2015.

  During
  his
  student

teaching
  experience,
  Tony
  demonstrated
  a
  deep
  understanding
  of
  physics
  content,
  a
  desire

to
  help
  all
  students
  do
  their
  best,
  and
  an
  excellent
  work
  ethic.

   When
  Tony
  planned
  lessons,
  he
  put
  himself
  in
  his
  students’
  shoes.

  He
  thought
  about

what
  misconceptions
  they
  might
  have
  and
  he
  planned
  ways
  to
  address
  and
  correct
  those

misconceptions.

  Tony
  made
  sure
  to
  clarify
  what
  the
  learning
  target
  for
  each
  lesson
  was,

and
  designed
  his
  lesson
  to
  meet
  that
  target.

  During
  a
  given
  lesson,
  Tony
  would
  incorporate

several
  different
  ways
  for
  students
  to
  learn
  or
  to
  communicate
  what
  they
  had
  learned.

   During
  his
  time
  student
  teaching,
  Mr.
  Martinek
  developed
  a
  good
  rapport
  with
  his

students.

  There
  were
  students
  who
  would
  seek
  out
  extra
  help
  on
  difficult
  physics
  concepts

both
  before
  and
  after
  school,
  and
  Mr.
  Martinek
  was
  always
  willing
  to
  help.

  Mr.
  Martinek

was
  able
  to
  help
  students
  who
  might
  typically
  be
  reluctant
  to
  ask
  for
  extra
  help
  or
  to
  come

in
  for
  that
  help.

  During
  labs,
  students
  felt
  comfortable
  asking
  Mr.
  Martinek
  to
  assist
  them.

He
  did
  a
  great
  job
  of
  leading
  students
  to
  the
  answers
  they
  were
  looking
  for
  through

questioning
  rather
  than
  just
  giving
  them
  the
  answer.

  While
  students
  can
  sometimes

become
  frustrated
  by
  not
  finding
  the
  answer
  immediately,
  they
  were
  receptive
  and

appreciative
  of
  how
  Mr.
  Martinek
  helped
  them
  discover
  the
  answers
  on
  their
  own.

   Tony
  spent
  a
  lot
  of
  time
  designing
  meaningful
  learning
  experiences
  for
  his
  students

and
  providing
  feedback
  for
  them
  on
  assignments
  they
  turned
  in.

  He
  created,
  modified,
  and

refined
  lessons
  to
  meet
  the
  various
  needs
  of
  his
  students
  and
  always
  asked
  for
  feedback
  to

make
  further
  improvements
  for
  the
  future.

  Tony
  also
  spent
  a
  lot
  of
  time
  providing

feedback
  to
  students
  on
  labs
  they
  wrote
  up
  as
  Google
  docs
  so
  they
  could
  make
  changes
  to

their
  labs
  before
  turning
  them
  in
  for
  a
  final
  grade.

   Tony
  Martinek
  is
  a
  hardworking,
  knowledgeable
  candidate
  who
  puts
  students’

needs
  first
  in
  his
  planning
  and
  teaching.

  If
  you
  have
  any
  questions
  about
  Tony’s

qualifications,
  please
  feel
  free
  to
  contact
  me
  at
  jhoida@whitnall.com
  or

Sincerely,
