Professional experience summary
Anthony Katz is a manager in the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of Ernst &
Young LLP’s Financial Services Office. He is based in New York and has over 25 years of
experience in the insurance industry. His experience is divided between Specialty Lines and
Large Account Risk Management functions in Traditional and non-Traditional roles. He is a
former Chief Reserving Actuary, where he was responsible for analysis and adequacy of loss
reserves across a multi-product book of business and facilitating year-end Financial Reporting
and Annual Statement processes. He has held several front-line Pricing positions working
alongside Profit Center leaders. Product experience includes A&H, Captive structuring,

prospective guidance.
• Extensive Experience in Due Diligence, Pricing and Evaluating Loss Portfolios.
• Performed Actuarial Transformation® for large insurers, focusing on gap analysis,
centralized pricing systems, reserving software, interdepartmental communication, actuarial
database design, self-service BI, process automation, data extraction, data quality cleansing,
automation and visualization tools.
• Designed and performed company’s Gross and Net Risk Transfer Testing and Collateral
Adequacy.
• Integral member of senior Risk Management’s decision making team made up of Chief
Underwriting Officer and senior underwriters. Worked closely across business functions to
better understand, communicate and improve business performance including Claims, CAT
teams, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Underwriting.
• Designed suite of interactive analytic tools for Risk Management team including claims
handlers, senior management, and underwriters that assisted with shaping a profitable multi-
billion dollar book of business.
