implementing global sourcing projects, cost reduction initiatives through e-auctions, VA-VE
projects, supplier reduction, and product leveraging.
Other responsibilities included the coordination and development of the global sourcing

significant portion of my time was spent communicating, reporting and coordinating with
plant operational and purchasing managers to help insure that program plans were

Responsible for supply chain management of raw castings, forging, metal stampings, roll
formed metal components, medallions, electrical assemblies and related components in
support of three high production assembly lines. Additional skills and responsibilities
include but were not limited to supplier sourcing, participation in cost reduction and
continuous improvement initiatives, new product development project support. Facilitated
training and professional development classes for the Operations and Purchasing Function.
Personnel trained consisted of Purchasing Agents, Buyers, Planners, Material Coordinators,
Production Associates and Supervisors. In my role as a purchasing agent I was responsible
for the following activities in support of three motorcycle production lines. Supplier
selection and sourcing, procurement of an extensive array of highly cosmetic, functional,
decorative trim parts, produced through a variety of manufacturing processes, used in
numerous applications throughout the assembly process. Parts consisted of chrome plated
aluminum castings, plates, forging, plastics, leather, vinyl’s, coated steel, paint, coatings,
decals, hand crafted emblems, and printed labels of various sizes, shapes, and materials.
Other challenges included developing and maintaining long-term strategic supplier
relationships, negotiating long-term strategic procurement arrangements, strengthening the
supply chain through supply chain development activities as well as monitoring individual
supplier development through supplier audits and value management initiatives. I Conducted
supplier consolidations, supplier certifications, supplier evaluations, evaluating SPC systems
and manufacturing process control systems. I was also responsible for managing the
administrative accounts for new and new and existing production parts, coordinating with
other internal organizational functions (i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing, Styling, and
Quality) to insure that only the best possible product reaches our customers (both internal
and external). Lastly responsible for monitoring supplier capacity issues, forecasting costs,
encouraging supplier cost reduction programs, assisting development of cosmetic quality
standards, and supporting ISO initiatives within Harley-Davidson.
