The Patient Information Leaflet (PIL)
was designed to not only be an
instructional leaflet but more importantly
a visual representation to better assist
patients on routes of administration,
warnings and side effects on the type of
medication they are taking.

Usability Test Plan
The goal of the usability test is to see
if the visual aid is better in assisting
patients in awareness of their
medication.
Participants were given a set of tasks
to see if the brochure was easy to
maneuver and information was easily
understood.

Usability Test
The test sessions were performed at
Peet’s coffee shop inside of Market
Street to target an older audience.
This was done one April 20th, 2016.
There were five participants total, they
each filled out a customized consent
forms and surveys before and after
the test itself.

Methods
Before beginning the Usability Test, we
read the consent forms out loud to the
participants.
We then had them fill out the Pre- Test
Survey, after this tasks were given to
the participants regarding the medicinal
guide.
After the tasks were completed, the
Post- Test Survey was filled out by the
participant and we asked for any other
feedback.

nclusion
All our research has lead us to the conclusion that the
Medicinal brochure is preferred over a Leaflet packet.
The brochure was designed to help patients who
currently take hypertension medication understand
the route of administration, warnings, and side
effects.
