1. Sale of the Century
Tired of slow computers, frozen screens and
programs that don’t work well anymore?
Then make a difference by helping Century
Middle School raise the money it needs for
new computers. Here’s how.
1. Donate items you’ve outgrown.
You know, an outfit, a game, a CD or DVD that no longer suit
your current style. Your “yesterday’s news” might be someone
else’s ideal find! Just make that sure that it is clean and in good
working order. Also make sure that your mom and pop are
okay with you giving it away.
2. Ask your parents to clean house, too.
Let them know about your challenges with the CMS computers
and ask them to go through their closets, kitchen, and storage
spaces to see if they have items they can donate as well.
Donation drop off times and locations are listed on the CMS
Website. All items are tax deductible — something they’re sure
to smile about.
Hint. Look for:
3. Sign up to work a shift with your friends.
You can help CMS by sorting, tagging and boxing items for the
sale, setting up for the sale or working on the day of the sale.
Sign-up sheets are located in the CMS lobby near the door
to the principal’s office. Get your parents to sign up too! And
make sure you can get a ride if you need one.

4. Use your gift of gab for the greater good.
Even neighbors who don’t have CMS students living in their
households can make a donation and shop the sale — so
be sure to give at least 10 people outside your household a
flyer about this exciting fundraiser. The more people who
are “in the know,” the better. Refer them to the Web site for
drop off times and locations. Or offer to bring in their items,
saving them a trip. Of course, safety first. Don’t talk to a
stranger unless a parent or other adult is with you.
5. Shop ‘till you drop.
CMS will open its doors on Saturday, May 3, at 9 a.m.
So, make sure you and your friends and family members are
ready to roll. Who knows? You may find that “something
special” at a price that can’t be beat!
