Definition:
“Leadership is the process of social influence in which
one person can enlist the aid and support of others
in the accomplishment of a common task”
-M Chemers.
Meaning:
Leadership is both a research area and a
practical skill, regarding the ability of an
individual or organization to "lead" or guide
other individuals, teams, or entire
organizations.
Leadership is the art of motivating people
towards their goal. Leadership is the process of
encouraging and directing people or group to
work enthusiastically towards objective.

Company Back ground
Dadra Manufacturing
 Established: 1997, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, a Union
Territory situated 200kms away from Mumbai.
 Area: 12000Sq.mt
 Manpower: 600
Dadra plant is regarded by industry experts as one of
the best manufacturing facilities in the country for air-
conditioning products. It's been built in technical
collaboration with Rheem USA.
Blue Star Limited
"To deliver a world-class customer experience", has
been the core philosophy of Blue Star.
Blue Star is India's leading air conditioning and
commercial refrigeration company. Blue Star's
integrated business model of a manufacturer,
contractor and after-sales service provider enables
it to offer an end-to-end solution to its customers,
which has proved to be a significant differentiator
in the market place. In fact, every third commercial
building in the country has a Blue Star product
installed.
Blue Star manufactures air-conditioner,
commercial refrigerator and cold storage. The
Company fulfills the cooling requirements of a
large number of corporate, commercial as well
as residential customers. The Company also
offers expertise in allied contracting activities
such as electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting and
industrial projects, in order to offer turnkey
solutions, apart from execution of specialized
industrial projects.
The Company has manufacturing facilities at
Dadra, Himachal, Wada and Ahmadabad,
which use modern, state-of-the-art
manufacturing equipment to ensure that the
products have consistent quality and reliability.
The Company has a manufacturing footprint of
about 1lakh sq m, manufacturing over 300
models across 25 product lines. The Company's
mainstay of product development and R&D
has been energy efficiency, coupled with eco-
friendly and sustainable products

In BSL, they produce many variety of air-conditioner like-
 Ducted AC
 VRF (Variant Refrigerant Flow)
 RAD (Room Air-conditioner)
According to survey, BSL is leading company in Ducted
AC in Indian market. BSL’s ducted product market is
36 to 38%.
 In case of VRF product, Daikin a Japan company leads
market, which is 11 to 12%.
 BSL holds more than 7% market in RAD (Room Air-
conditioner that includes split AC, Window AC and
other).
 BSL has good voltage range in their products as
compare to others.
 BSL has huge range of IDU (indoor units) and ODU
(outdoor units).

 To find if there were any often conflict dealing.

Type of Questions: MCQ and Open Ended
Area covered: Dadra mfg. management staff
Based on the data collection and analysis I have
done the following findings:
 81% employee said that their manager respond
to their new idea or proposal.
 52% respondent said that, their manager meets
them regularly to discuss your needs and
problems, but 5% refuse to agree on that.
 57% of respondent think their manager is good
listener and a quick respondent.
 42% of respondent do not want any kind of
change in their manager’s leadership style.
What is the most often conflict you are
dealing with your manager?
 According survey 62% of respondent did not
have any conflict with their manager; they are
content with the leadership style of their
manager.
Another 38% of participants responded below
listed conflict:
I. Bonding.
II. Lack of communication.
III. Work load.
IV. Working on deadline.
V. Favoritism.
What do you want to change in your manger’s
Leadership Technique?
 In BSL, 43% of respondent do not want any change
in their manager’s leadership style. They like the
way their manager leads their team for achieving
common goal.
 Remaining 57% of respondent desire below listed
changes in their manager’s leadership technique:
I. Regular interaction.
II. Wants more opportunity.
III. Motivation.
IV. Include team member in decision.
V. Wants help in achieving personal and professional
goal.
VI. Change in leadership style they followed.
 Manager should change in their leadership
style, as per employee’s requirements.
 Manager should give attention to the employee
regarding their need and problems.
 Manager should try to solve conflict with the
employees.
 Manager should try to change in their
management techniques.
 As per study, in this company manager follow
Democratic leadership style.
 Respondents facing some conflicts on regular
base as like, low bonding, Favoritism, lack of
communication, rush on last moments and
work load.
 Respondents expect high-performance team
leadership style from their manager.

BSL’s ducted product market is 36 to 38%.  In case of VRF product, Daikin a Japan company leads market, which is 11 to 12%.  BSL holds more than 7% market in RAD (Room Air- conditioner that includes split AC, Window AC and other).  BSL has good voltage range in their products as compare to others.  BSL has huge range of IDU (indoor units) and ODU (outdoor units).

Based on the data collection and analysis I have done the following findings:  81% employee said that their manager respond to their new idea or proposal.  52% respondent said that, their manager meets them regularly to discuss your needs and problems, but 5% refuse to agree on that.  57% of respondent think their manager is good listener and a quick respondent.  42% of respondent do not want any kind of change in their manager’s leadership style.
