Volleyball All‐Conference honors announced
CANYON, Texas – Lone Star Conference champion West Texas A&M had two first‐team selections on the
All‐LSC volleyball team announced by league officials Wednesday evening at the LSC Championship banquet.
WT, which finished with a faultless 16‐0 LSC record and is hosting the LSC Championship that starts
tomorrow, had five honorees. Lauren Bevan and Kameryn Hayes claimed first team acclaim, while Lexi Davis
and Lauren Britten were selected to the second team, and Jessica Johnson earned honorable mention honors.
In addition, the Lady Buffs Bevan was tabbed Offensive Player of the Year, Hayes the co‐Setter of the Year,
and Jason Skoch was Coach of the Year for the second straight year and fifth time overall.
Texas Woman’s had three first‐teamers, while Angelo State and Tarleton State each had two on the top
team. The Pioneers Elizabeth Pennington, Morgan Wilson, and Jaqueline Santos; Rambelles Shelby Wilt and
Mallory Blauser; and TexAnns Hailey Roberts and Kenya Alexander claimed first team distinction.
ASU’s Wilt and Blauser were named Libero of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, respectively.
Alexander was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year and Roberts received Freshman of the Year honors for
TSU.
Texas A&M‐Kingsville’s Casey Klobedans shared Setter of the Year acclaim.
Texas A&M‐Commerce’s Amy Davault, ENMU’s Agatha Gibbons and TAMUK’s Kelsey Washington were
also named to the first team.
A total of 36 student‐athletes were recognized by the LSC postseason awards program including one from
all nine volleyball programs. The all‐conference honors were selected by the league’s head coaches.

Volleyball: All‐Academic Awards announced
CANYON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference recognized 14 student‐athletes for their academic achievements
Wednesday evening when league officials announced the volleyball academic awards at the LSC Championship banquet.
LSC Champion West Texas A&M led the selections with four All‐Academic honorees, while Angelo State and Eastern
New Mexico had three. Cameron, Texas Woman’s, Texas A&M‐Commerce, and Tarleton State each added one honoree.
ASU’s Katie MacLeay, a biology major, was tabbed LSC Academic Player of the Year. A repeat selection to the all‐academic
team, she has provided 327 digs this season and enters this weekend with 1,109 in her career. MacLeay has 16
double‐digit dig performances and five matches with 20 or more digs.
The All‐Academic team is chosen by the league’s sports information directors, who select players based on both
athletic and academic achievement. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student‐athletes must have played in at
least 50 percent of team’s contests, reached sophomore athletic and academic standing (true freshmen and redshirt
freshmen are not eligible), completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution, and have a minimum
3.30 cumulative grade point average based on the 4.0 system for his/her entire collegiate career.
MacLeay is joined on the All‐Academic team by Rambelles teammates Shelby Wilt and Cerbi Ritchey; WT’s Lauren
Britten, Lexi Davis, Jessica Johnson, and Kyli Schulz; ENMU’s Courtney Lawson, Lindsay Bost, and Lauren Frye; TSU’s
Kaitlyn White; TWU’s Morgan Wilson; CU’s Rebecca Green and A&M‐C’s Taryn Driver.
In addition to MacLeay, Wilt and Davis were repeat selections.
